Road safety comes first Please be careful not to use the Diorphone while driving. In case you need to use the Diorphone, please pull over your vehicle first. In some countries, it is illegal to use a wireless phone while driving.
Operating Environment o Remember to follow any special regulations in force, in any area and always switch off your Diorphone whenever it is forbidden to use it, or when it may cause interference or danger (in a hospital for example). o Operation of any radio-transmitting equipment, including cellular phones, may interfere with inadequately protected medical devices. Consult a doctor or the manufacturer of the medical device if you have any questions.

Using Batteries Precautions when using batteries o Never use any charger or battery that is damaged in any way. o Use the battery only for intended purpose. o No indication of charging: When you start charging a battery that is empty or a battery that has not been used for a long time, it may take up to 20 minutes before the battery icon appears in the display.
o You should only use Dior batteries and chargers, as the use of any other accessories may damage your phone and may be dangerous. The use of an incorrect type of battery may also cause an explosion.
GET STARTED Your Diorphone SIM card information When you subscribe to a cellular network, you receive a plug-in SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card loaded with your subscription details, such as your PIN, and available optional services. Install and charge the phone 1. Remove the battery cover by pushing the battery button (A), then lift the battery cover (B).
2. Insert the SIM card. Make sure that the gold-colored contacts on the card are face down. 3. Install the battery. 4. Replace the battery cover. 5. Plug the travel adapter into the Diorphone. 6. Plug the adapter into a standard AC wall outlet. 7. When the Diorphone is completely charged (the battery icon becomes still), unplug the adapter from the power outlet. 8. Remove the adapter from the Diorphone.
Low battery indicator When the battery is low a warning tone sounds, the battery low message displays and the empty battery icon blinks. If the battery level becomes too low, the Diorphone automatically turns off. Recharge your battery. Note: When the battery is completely discharged, and not used for a while, the Diorphone will not display the charging icon for about 20 minutes while charging. After 30 minutes of charging, the Diorphone will display the charging icon Power On or Off 1.
Keys and display 1. [Soft] Keys Perform functions identified on the bottom line of the display. 2. [Navigation] Key Scrolls through the menu options. Moves the cursor up and down in the normal editing mode. Moves the cursor to left and right in all editing mode. 3. [OK] Key In Idle Mode, accesses to Internet like services. In Menu Mode, selects the highlighted menu option or confirms input. In Camera and Video preview mode, works as a shutter. 4. [Send] Key Dials or answers a call.
Activate or deactivate the Silent mode To activate the Silent Mode option, press and hold [*] key in the idle mode. Diorphone icon bar In Idle mode, top line of the screen displays a set of icons representing your Diorphone status. Depending on your country or service provider, the icons shown on the display may vary. Signal Strength: Greater the number of bars, stronger the signal strength.
Headset: appears when you set the Profiles as Headset. DIORPHONE MENUS AND FEATURES Diorphone Gallery Diorphone Gallery contents 1. Dior concierge 2. File manager To access this menu from home screen press menu and select Dior Gallery. Dior concierge This menu enable you to call you Dior concierge, you can also access Dior concierge through its number recorded in the phonebook. File Manager Use this menu to navigate into the files stored on both Diorphone memory and external memory card if present..
o Image File (bmp, jpg, and gif format) options are available to forward to Wallpaper, Phonebook, MMS, EMS and Bluetooth. o Sound File (mid, wav, mp3, AMR, AAC and iMelody format) options are available to forward to Tone Setup, MMS, EMS and Bluetooth. o Detail: displays information of the file, date and size. o Rename: allows you to edit the file name. o Copy: allows you to copy the file to the other folder or other storage. o Move: allows you to move the file to the selected folder or storage.

Caller ringtone You can store phone numbers on your SIM card and in your Diorphone’s memory. The SIM card and Diorphone memory are physically separated, but they are used as a single entity called “Contacts”. To access this menu, press [Menu] from home screen and select Contacts.
V. Edit: allows you to edit the entry items. VI. Send vCard: allows you to send a contact by SMS. VII. Delete: allows you to delete the entry. VIII. Copy: allows you to copy the entry from SIM to Phone or Phone to SIM. You will have the same entry in a different storage. IX. Move: allows you to move the entry from SIM to Phone or Phone to SIM. The entry will be stored in the original storage. X. Duplicate: allows you to duplicate the entry in the same storage.
o Member List: You can add or delete group member(s). Press [OK] and select [Add]. It will display a phonebook list excluding the members already in the group. It is possible to set a member in multiple groups. Press [Save]. Settings Memory Status You can check how many names and numbers are stored in your contact list (SIM card and Diorphone memories) or how much free space remains.
Call History Call History menu contents 1. Missed calls 2. Dialed calls 3. Received calls 4. Delete calls log 5. Call time 6. Call cost 7. SMS counter 8. GPRS counter Use this menu to view the calls you have dialed, received, or missed, and the length of the calls. You can also check the cost of your calls, if the SIM card supports this function. Missed Calls This menu displays the most recent received calls that you did not answer.
o Last call time: check your last call duration. o Total sent: check the total duration of all the calls you have dialed since the latest reset. o Total received: check the total duration of all the calls you have received since the latest reset. o Reset All Time: Allows you to reset the call timers. You need to enter the phone password. Call cost This menu allows you to evaluate the cost of your calls, based on their duration and a price per minute you can set yourself.

Broadcast Message WAP This menu allows you to access to Internet like services from mobile. o Homepage: When you choose [Homepage] menu, WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) browser opens the main page of home site you have chosen among the sites in [Settings] [Profile]. o Bookmarks: You can make bookmark data in your phone. And you can connect to the site directly.
o Number: Enter the server phone number. o User Name: Enter the user name required to connect to GSM Data network. o Password: Enter the password required to connect to GSM Data network. o Line Type: Choose a network connection type between Analogue and ISDN. o Speed: Select the desired speed from 4.8, 9.6 Kbps and 14.4 Kbps. o DNS (000.000.000.
Messages Messages menu content 1. SMS 2. MMS 3. Email 4. Voice Mail Server Use the Messages menu to send and receive short messages and multimedia messages. You can also use voice-mail. To access this menu, press [Menu] from home screen and select [Messages]. Message functions are available depending on network services that your service provider supports. SMS The SMS (Short Message Service) function is a network service and your network may or may not support the service.
Inbox This folder stores all of the messages you have received. You can view the new text messages or the read messages. It will display the sender’s phone number or name (if stored in the Contact list). If you press the [Ok] soft key, you can view the message content. Sent Messages You can view the sent or unsent messages you have saved. Send, Edit, Delete, Delete All and Use Number options are available. Draft This folder stores messages you have saved to send at a later time.
o Send Only: Sends the message. o Save and Send: Saves the message, and sends it to required recipient(s). o Save to Drafts: Saves the message to Drafts. You may send it later. o Send Options: Validity Period, Delivery Report, Read Report, Priority o Exit: Exits the Write Message, the Diorphone will ask if you want to save the message. o The phone will display the Message sending Success or Fail message on the screen for all recipients.
Write E-mail This menu allows you to write an email. o To – contain the recipient list of the e-mail. o CC – contain the carbon copy list of the e-mail. o Subject – contain the subject of the mail. o Attachment – displays attachment states of the email. At most 3 attachments can be added in an email. o Priority – the priority of the email. You can use inline selection to change the priority. There are “Low”, “Normal” and “High” options.
Music Music menu content 4. Music playback 5. Sound recorder Music playback You can listen to MP3, MIDI, WAV, AMR, AAC, iMelody music files with the Audio Player. To view the music list: Press [List] soft key. It will display available music list from the phone. o To play the music: From the music player screen, press [List] soft key and select the song you want then select “Play.” o To make a playlist from the selected directory: 1. Access the Audio Player. 2. Press the [List] soft key (left). 3.
Multimedia Multimedia menu content 1. Camera 2. Image Album 3. Video recorder 4. Video Album Camera You can use the camera module embedded in your Diorphone to take photos. Before taking a picture, you can set your camera settings on screen by pressing navigation keys, alphanumeric keys, and [Option] soft key (left). You need to enter the preview mode (by sliding the camera shutter of your phone from home screen) to access these settings. Note: Do not take photos of people without their permission.
Video album You can view the recorded video with the Video Player. Press the side volume key to adjust the volume.
Tools Tools menu content 1. Agenda 2. World clock 3. Alarm 4. Instruments 5. Java Agenda The calendar helps you keep track of your monthly schedule. When you access the Calendar menu, the calendar in Month view appears with today’s date indicated by a green bow line. World Clock This feature allows you to check the current time based on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) for major cities around the world. From the world map, scroll to the city you want.
Calculator Use this menu to perform basic arithmetic functions and memory functions; Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division; Add to Memory, Subtract to Memory, Memory Clear and Memory Read. Unit Converter You can convert from one type of unit to another. To convert a value: 1. Select the weight or length options. 2. Select the type of conversion to be performed. 3. Input the value to be converted, and then press [Ok] to get the result. 4. You can enter a decimal dot (.) using the [#] key.

Restore factory settings User Profiles Use this menu to customize various sounds. Select one profile and select “Activate” to activate the setting. Select “Customize” to customize the Profile settings. Customizable options are the following: o Tone Setup: Incoming Call, alarm, Power On, Message Tone and Keypad Tone o Volume: Ring Tone, Keypad Tone.
My Device This will display Paired Device(s), which have been connected and registered with your Diorphone. You can conveniently connect to the most frequently used Bluetooth device by using this menu. o Connect: you can connect to the listed Bluetooth devices. o Rename: you can edit the device name. o Delete: you can delete the saved device from the My Device list. o Search new device: you can also search for new devices.
Preferred Input Methods This menu allows you to define your preferred input method. Once you set the preferred input method, next time you edit in text input mode, it will use the setting until you change it to another in this menu. Speed Dial Use this menu to assign speed dial numbers (2 to 9) for 8 of your most frequently called numbers. Assigning speed dial entries: o Enable speed dial “On” and go to “Set Number” o Select a key location from 2 to 9. (Key 1 is reserved for your voice-mail server.
Options are as follows: o Automatic: You will be connected to the first available network when roaming o Manual: The Diorphone scans for the available network, and you can select the network manually. Preferred Networks You can set your preferred networks from list. You can Add From List, Create New, Change Priority and Delete. Band setup This option lets you select which band should the Diorphone connect to. Call setup The following Call Setup features are network services.
Call Time Display You can set the Diorphone to display the call duration. Auto Redial This option allows you to set an automatic redial when the call receiver is busy. If you set [Auto Redial] on, it will redial 5 times until successful call.
Note: The initial password is “0000.” After you change your password, you will need to input the latest password. If you forgot your password, contact the service center. Flight Mode This option allows you to use some multimedia features of your device while its transmitting function remains switched off. This allows you, for instance, to use your device on an airplane as MP3 player whereas GSM remains switched off for your security.
Once you have set up the preferred input method, next time you edit in text input mode, the setting will be applied until you change to another. Changing input method time to time If you want to change the text input method temporarily, in the text input mode: 1. Press [Option] soft key 2. Select [Input Method] from the option. You can change the text input method with the [#] key; the input methods will swap when you press the [#]. Note: Press and hold the [*] key to select Symbols.
Your Dior Mini Dior Mini is an innovation in mobile phone technology. It enables you to answer a call, browse and call a contact without having to use you Diorphone. Therefore, you can leave your Diorphone in your handbag and hang the Dior Mini outside to always have it close to you. Your Dior Mini has been specifically created and designed to be used with your Diorphone, therefore, it can only be used with your Diorphone.

Charging Dior Mini battery Before using your Dior Mini you should charge its battery for approximately 10 hours. To charge your Dior Mini follow these steps: I. Plug the Dior Mini USB cable into the charger or in the multiplug dungle if you want to charge the phone at the same time. II. Plug the magnetic side of the Dior Mini USB cable into the Dior Mini magnetic Hook shown below. III. Plug the charger into a standard AC wall outlet.
Pairing your Dior Mini with your Diorphone In order to use the Dior Mini with your Diorphone, you must pair it with your Diorphone. Pairing is the process of establishing communication between two Bluetooth ® devices. To initiate pairing follow these steps: 1. Place your Dior Mini and Diorphone close to each other (0,3 meter / 1 foot) 2. Switch on your Diorphone and press the lower navigation key in order to get into the Bluetooth Menu 3.
Synchronizing Diorphone’s and Dior Mini phonebook When you add a new contact or number to your SIM card, you should synchronize your Dior Mini in order to update its phonebook. As seen in the previous section of this document, a synchronization is made when you pair the Diorphone and Dior Mini, but you can also force the phonebook synchronization in order to keep Dior Mini’s phonebook updated. This action is also required if a previous synchronization failed.
Switching Dior Mini ON To switch ON your Dior Mini, pres and hold the [Cancel] button for about 3 seconds until the welcome “Dior” message appears, you can hear a double beep sound. If your Diorphone’s Bluetooth mode is activated, your Dior Mini will automatically establish the connection and will appear in [Active device] in the Bluetooth menu.
Switching Dior Mini OFF To switch OFF your Dior Mini, press and hold the [Cancel] button for about 7 seconds, you will hear a beep sound. Please note, that once Dior Mini switched OFF, all communications will be diverted to your Diorphone.
Calling a contact from the phonebook Make sure both Diorphone and Dior Mini are switched ON and connected. Press the [Cancel] button to get into the phone book menu, scroll up to the desired contact by pressing [Volume +] or [Volume -] to scroll down. To jump from one letter to another (Ex. From John to Kate) keep the [Volume -] pressed until you get to the desired letter. Press [Volume +] to jump to the previous letter. To call the selected contact, press [Validate] button.
Calling a contact from the “Last call” menu Make sure both Diorphone and Dior Mini are switched ON and connected. The “Last call” menu stores up to 10 last incoming / outgoing calls made with Dior Mini. To get into the “Last call” menu press [Validate] button. Scroll down to the desired contact by pressing [Volume -] or [Volume +] to scroll up, press [validate] to initiate the call.
Accepting / rejecting a call When receiving a call, Dior Mini displays the caller’s identity if stored in the phonebook or the caller number if not stored. If the caller identity is hidden Dior Mini will display “Unknown” message. To accept the call,simply press the [Validate] button. To reject a call, simply press [Cancel button], it will send the caller to your voice mailbox. To mute your Dior mini ringtone, press and hold [Volume +] or [Volume -] for 3 seconds.
In call available options Adjusting the speaker’s volume During a call, press [Volume +] button to increase the speaker’s volume or [Volume -] to decrease. Muting the microphone During a call, press and hold [Volume +] or [Volume -] button for 3 seconds to mute the microphone, you will hear a periodic tone in the speaker and the muted microphone icon will be displayed.
Reset your Dior Mini If you encounter a problem with your Dior Mini, the first thing you should do is switching it Off as well as your Diorphone and switching them back On. If switching off doesn’t solve the problem, you can reset your Dior Mini by pressing at the same time the following buttons: [Validate] + [Cancel] + [Volume -]. This will reset your Dior Mini to a normal state and switch it OFF.
Guidelines for safe use Read those guidelines before using your Dior Mini Before using your Dior Mini for the first time, adjust the headset volume to the lowest, then increase the volume gradually until you reach to an acceptable level. High levels of volume may result in hearing loss, avoid using the headset at high volume continuously. If you experience ringing in your ears or muffled speech, consult your doctor immediately and stop using the headset.
