Getting Started Warnings and Precautions Use only Modottel-approved batteries and chargers to avoid the damage to the phone. Using other batteries or chargers voids your warranty and may cause an explosion. Do not use batteries and desktop chargers for other than the intended purposes.
What Is Supplied in the Box Thank you for purchasing this Modottel WTE-500 cell phone. To ensure ease of use please make sure the following items are packaged in the box with your device.
Dictionary of Display Icons
Identifying the Parts of your WTE-500 Phone 1. Keypad lock key To lock keypad and prevent numbers from being dialed accidentally, push and hold the lock button on the upper left hand side of the phone. To release the keypad lock press the same button and hold. 2. Side keys 3. Headset jack How to Install, Remove and Charge the Battery Please make sure your battery has been fully charged before commencing to use your new phone.
Charging your battery 1. Connect the charger to the accessory port of your phone. (The arrow side of the charger should be pointing at your keypad). 2. Plug the charger into a 220V or 110V wall outlet. 3. If the Red LED is lit on the charger that means that your phone is in the process of charging. 4. If the Green LED is lit on the charger your phone is fully charged and ready for use. 5. When your phone is ready to be recharged, it will begin to beep and the battery status icon will flash empty.
Basic Phone Operation Turning the Phone On and Off Standby Mode Receiving a Call Making a Call Ending a Call Phone Operation While a Call is in Process Missed Calls / Automatic Redial Pause Dialing Short-cut keys Turning the Phone on 1. To power your phone on, press and hold END key until the display backlighting comes on. 2. Your phone will emit wakeup chimes and the word searching will be displayed as the phone initiates with a cellular tower. 3. The phone will then revert to Standby Mode.
While the phone is in standby mode press the right soft menu key (2nd) to have quick access to the following features: WAP (*It depends on your service provider’s network. Please contact your service provider for this service.) Games Sound Display Push the navigation key left to enter Games, right to enter the Sound, down to enter the Display and up to enter WAP.
▪ ▪ To speed dial a number located in memory location 010 – 099, press the second digit of the memory location briefly then hold down the third digit of the memory location until the display shows the full number and begins to dial. To speed dial a number located in memory location 100-200 press down the first two numbers of the three digit memory location briefly then hold the third number down until the display shows the full number and begins to dial. Ending a call 1. Press END key to terminate a call.
Adjusting your Call Volume You can adjust your speaker volume during a call. 1. To increase phone volume find the on the left -hand side of your phone and press up. The display will show you a volume meter so you can keep track of how much you are raising the phone’s volume. 2. To decrease phone volume locate the same key and press down. The display will show you a volume meter so you can keep track of how much you are lowering the phones volume.
* There are three different pause types that you can use when storing numbers for pause dialing: Manual Pause Timed Pause Hyphenates Pause Indicated with a P Indicated with a T Indicated with an H * A manual pause means that the initial string of the number stored with pause dialing will be sent, then the user will have to listen to the voice instructions in the automated message and then manually press send to dial the next string of numbers.

Call History This feature allows one to view a list of: - Incoming Calls that have connected to this phone - Outgoing Calls that have been dialed with this phone - Missed Calls : incoming numbers that did not manage to connect to this phone - Call Timer : details the amount of time spent on each call - Call Memo : where you have recorded numbers given to you during the course of a call. Incoming Calls: 1. Enter your feature menu by pressing MENU with the left soft key. 2.
3. Select the Call History feature by pushing OK with the right soft key or pushing the number 1. 4. Select Call Timer by scrolling with your navigation key until that option is highlighted and pushing OK with the right soft key, or by pressing the number 4. 5. The duration of your last call, total incoming calls, total outgoing calls, and total of all calls will be displayed. If you have not yet made or received any calls the call timers will all show 00:00:00. 6.
: Ring : E-mail address : Memo Find Entry: This feature allows you to find an entry in your Phone Book by name, location, phone number or group name. 1. Enter your feature menu by pressing MENU with the left soft key. 2. Use the navigation key to scroll to the Phone Book Feature. 3. Select the Phone Book feature by pushing OK with the right soft key or pushing the number 2. 4.
4. Select New Entry by scrolling with your navigation key until that option is highlighted and pushing OK with the right soft key, or by pressing the number 2. 5. You will be prompt to enter the name of your new contact. (to view additional information about adding text with your phone’s keypad see the appendix of this manual). 6. Once you have added the name of your new contact, press Save with the right soft key. 7.

You can send the same message to up to 10 recipients at a time. 1. Forward – forwards a sent message to others. After entering a recipient number, the message can be forwarded. To Folder – move the message to the different folder other than Draft. Lock – Locks or unlocks the selected message. Locked messages will not be deleted by Delete and Delete All functions of Delete menu. In order to save or delete the selected message, you have to unlock it. 2. Make your selection by highlighting your choice with your navigation key and pressing OK with the right soft key.

If you choose to turn this feature Off, you will not know whether recipient receive the message or not. Templates 1. Alarm Clock This feature allows you to set up to three daily alarms. These alarms can be set to go off once, daily, weekdays and weekends only. 1. Enter your feature menu by pressing MENU with the left soft key. 2. Use the navigation key to scroll to the Organizer Feature. 3. Select the Organizer feature by pushing OK with the right soft key or pushing the number 4. 4.
4. Select Stop Watch by scrolling with your navigation key until that option is highlighted and pushing OK with the right soft key, or by pressing the number 4. 5. To begin timing an event, press Start with the right soft key. 6. The time will automatically be recorded on the Stop Watch’s display by pressing Record with the right soft key. 7. To stop the timer press Stop with the left soft key. World Time This feature allows you set your location and time zone and to view the time in 39 major world cities.

Sounds Your sounds feature is designed so that you can configure your volume (voice, keypad and ringer), choose your alerts, and designate your ringer types. 1. Enter your feature menu by pressing MENU with the left soft key. 2. Use the navigation key to scroll to the Settings Feature. 3. Select the Settings feature by pushing OK with the right soft key or pushing the number 5. 4.
This tone alerts you that you are out of the service area for your carrier. While you are out of the carrier’s service area you will not be able to make or receive calls. You will hear another tone when you have traveled back into your proper service area and again can make and receive calls. 1. To set up your Alerts/Tones choose option 3 or scroll to Alerts/Tones with your navigation key and press OK soft key. 2. Select No Service by pressing OK soft key or by pressing the number 1. 3.
4. Highlight the option you want to set and pres OK soft key. Volume: This feature allows you to set the volume of your Calls, your Ringer and your Keypad Volume: ▪ Earpiece Volume 1. To set up your Volume choose option 4 or scroll to Volume with your navigation key and press OK soft key. 2. Select Earpiece Volume by pressing OK soft key or by pressing the number 1. 3. Set the volume level based on the volume bars shown on the display and press OK soft key. 4.
This feature prevents the unauthorized use of your phone, once this feature is activated your phone will remain locked even if you power it off and back on. You will have to enter your phone’s 4-digit lock code to be able to use your phone. 1. To set up your Lock Phone choose option 1 or scroll to Lock Phone with your navigation key and press OK soft key. 2. Your screen will show Lock On or Lock Off, if you select Lock On your phone will lock immediately. 3.
2. You will see spaces on your display for three emergency numbers, to store your first emergency number scroll to Emergency 1, and press OK soft key or press the number 1. 3. Roaming: This feature should be setup by your cellular carrier and you should not change any of the settings without their prior instruction and approval. These settings will affect your monthly billing amounts and your phones Network performance. It allows you to select which system your phone is setup to access when you make outgoing calls. You will have to enter your 4-digit lock code before being able to change your Roaming Settings. 1.
Location: This feature allows you to set your GPS setting to make network emergency calls only (911 with in the USA) or to always on. 1. To set up your Location choose option 5 or scroll to Location with your navigation key and press OK soft key. 2. You will see two choices, Location On or 911 only. 3. Make your selection by scrolling with your navigation key until the desired option is highlighted then pressing press OK soft key.

The phone will display a message confirming your choice or letting you know that Auto Redial has been turned off . Auto Answer: This feature will allow you to set your phone to automatically answer calls for a pre-set amount of time. The Auto Answer feature is especially helpful while you are in the car.

Data Rate: This feature sets the speed of connection between your phone and a Personal Computer if they were connected and exchanging information. Games WTE-500 has three games for your fun. Go! Hamster: Your Hamster must leave out a dark world against evil monster by enlarging brighten areas for peace. 1. Enter your Games menu by pushing 2nd soft key and pressing the navigation key to the left or enter Menu feature and then scroll the navigation key to the Games feature. 2. Use the navigation key to scroll to the Go! Hamster and press OK soft key, or press the number 1 to enter the Go! Hamster. 3. Press the number 1 for New Game. 4.
Web Browser The MiniBrowser feature allows you to view internet content, via your service provider, especially designed for your mobile phone. Access and selections within this feature are dependent upon your service provider. For specific information on MiniBrowser access through your phone, contact your service provider. T9 text entry The T9 predictive text input mode allows you to key in any character using single key strokes. The text input mode is based on a built-in dictionary. 1.
