7. Remove the cleaning solution with a wet-dry vacuum or auto scrubber until the oor is dry.
8. Repeat the rinse process if necessary to remove any haze that may be visible.
III. Daily / Regular Maintenance
1. Sweep, dust mop or vacuum the oor thoroughly to remove all loose dust, dirt, grit and debris. Note: Vacuum beater bar must
be disengaged.
2. Damp mop the oor with a pH-neutral cleaner.
3. If necessary, scrub the oor using a rotary machine or auto scrubber with a soft to medium scrubbing brush (aggressiveness
equivalent to a 3M red pad).
4. Thoroughly rinse the entire oor with fresh, clean water. Remove rinse water and allow the oor to dry completely.
IVa. Periodic Maintenance – No-Polish Method
1. When needed, machine scrub the oor with a properly diluted, pH-neutral cleaner and the appropriate scrubbing brush
(aggressiveness equivalent to 3M red pad).
2. Thoroughly rinse the entire oor with fresh, clean water. Remove rinse water and allow the oor to dry completely.
*Caution: Resilient ooring, like other types of smooth oors, can become slippery when wet. Allow time for the oor to dry after
cleaning. Immediately wipe up wet areas from spills or wet feet. Place mats at outside entrances to prevent water, snow or ice from
being tracked onto the oor. Improper polishes or nishes can cause the oor to become slippery.
IVb. Periodic Maintenance – Polish Method
NOTE: Polishing is not required but is an optional and acceptable form of maintenance. The ooring must be thoroughly cleaned prior
to beginning any polishing.
1. After properly cleaning the ooring as prescribed in the prior sections, scrub the oor using a rotary machine or auto scrubber
with a brush (aggressiveness equivalent to 3M red pad).
2. Thoroughly rinse the entire oor with fresh, clean water. Remove rinse water and allow the oor to dry completely.
3. Apply 3 to 5 coats of high-quality commercial oor polish. In areas where the ooring will be exposed to heavy trafc and/or
staining agents.
4. Regular and Periodic Maintenance should be performed as needed, and additional coats of oor polish should be applied.
Additional coats should only be applied after scrubbing as described above in Periodic Maintenance.
