Remedy
If substance is dry, gently peel it from the oor.
(Avoid sharp instruments that could scratch the oor.)
Scrub area with non-abrasive cleaner suitable for vinyl ooring
Rub lightly with odorless mineral spirits or paint thinner
Substances that won’t wipe up

Chewing Gum
• Oil
• Grease
Candle Wax

Remedy
Carefully remove excess with a dull kitchen knife or ngernail
Scrub area with non-abrasive cleaner suitable for vinyl ooring
Rub lightly with odorless mineral spirits, isopropyl alcohol or
lighter uid
Scuffs and Smudges
Rubber Heel Marks
Shoe Polish
Scuffs
Smudges
Remedy
Rub the scuff with ngertip, rubber will come right off (friction from the
rubbing will remove rubber)
Scrub area with non-abrasive cleaner suitable for vinyl ooring
Rub lightly with isopropyl alcohol or lighter uid
Note: Most grocery stores, discount stores, mass merchandisers and home centers carry cleaners suitable for vinyl ooring.
CAUTION:
Isopropyl alcohol, lighter uid, odorless mineral spirits and paint thinner are ammable solvents. Carefully read and
follow cautionary information on label. Keep trafc off treated area for 30 minutes.
