A Beginners Guide to Minecraft
Remember when I said to keep one of your pieces of wood, well now’s the time to use it.
When your inside the furnace place your piece of
wood in the top square and some wooden planks in
the bottom. When the arrow is fully white a piece of
charcoal should appear. This is the same as coal.
By placing the charcoal on top of a stick you will
create 4 torches.
Now it’s time to make a shelter. Keep in mind that
your first shelter will not be the most glamorous
thing.
Start by digging a hole in either the side of a hill or
even in the ground (keep in mind that sand and
gravel do obey the laws of gravity and will fall if there is nothing there to support them.
Luckily I had a hill nearby, so I dug out a small room and placed my furnace and crafting table in
there, along with a few torches. (the black hand is caused by lag).
It’s looking pretty good … but what’s there to stop the monsters and annoying animals just walking
in? sure you can just plug up the entrance with dirt, but that’s no fun. So we’re going to make a
door!
To make a door, place 6 wooden planks in 2 rows next to each other like so …
Place the door at the entrance and press the rite mouse button to
open and close it.
