Sweep Control
The Sweep Control screen allows you to change the sine wave parameters that
define the sweep signal for each generator. Use the soft keys at the top of the Sweep
Control menu, shown in Figure 4-7, to make the generator selection. When the
generators are set to follow, one sweep definition is all that is required, but
individual sweep definitions are possible for each generator. All defined and enabled
sweep signals are started, or stopped if running, by a press of the front-panel
Sweep/Run button.
NOTE. It is very important to observe the generator selection and follow mode
settings to avoid making changes to the sweep or list for the wrong generator when
individual sweep definitions are used.
Sweep control settings include the following:
H Direction—whether the sweep begins at Start and goes to Stop or begins at Stop
and goes to Start.
NOTE. Sweep and List directions can be from Start to Stop or Stop to Start without
regard to the values that are specified for Start and Stop. The Start values can be
higher or lower in frequency and larger or smaller in amplitude than the Stop
values.
H Spacing—linear or logarithmic calculation of the next dwell point
H Sweep Count—number of sweeps (set to 0 for continuous sweep)
H Points per Sweep—number of pause points in the sweep
H Automatic Timing—adjusts dwell times for faster sweeps
H Point Dwell—time at each point in the sweep when Auto Timing is off
H Total Time—duration of the sweep when Auto Timing is off
