Set Reference
Within the generator status window you can set a generator frequency or level
setting to be displayed with reference to a value you specify. This feature can be
used, for example, when you want to display the generator output level as a delta
from a specified reference value. To set a generator reference, perform the following
steps:
1. With an application running, touch the generator status icon to display the
generator status window.
2. Touch the generator status window to focus the controls to the generator.
3. Press the Select button one or more times to highlight (select) the generator
parameter you want to display as a reference value.
4. Set that parameter to the value you wish to be the reference number for that
generator parameter using either the large control knob (for small changes) or
the keypad (for direct entry of the reference value).
NOTE. If you make the setting using the keypad and Enter keys, you will have to
reselect the parameter again to use the Set Ref feature for that parameter.
5. Press the Set Ref button.
The AM700 now displays any changes as deltas (changed values) from the reference
value you specified. Level values are displayed in dBr, delta V, or delta mV as
appropriate for the units, and frequency values are displayed in delta hertz.
NOTE. When touched, a function soft key having a triangle in a box displays a
pop-up menu of selections for the function. You can choose a selection by turning
the control knob, then accept the selection by touching the pop-up menu. The most
recent selection is displayed on the soft key.
