AM700 Audio Measurement Set User Manual
It is possible to set up a different sweep setting for each measurement. If some
measurements have more independent variable points specified than others,
remember that the sweep does not complete until all the points are taken. As an
example, assume measurement 1 is specified as Level versus Frequency in Channel
1 with 16 data points and measurement 2 is enabled and specified as THD+N versus
Frequency in channel 2 with 24 data points. The THD+N measurement, which takes
longer to settle than the Level measurement, will control how often the generator
frequency is allowed to advance. The closed-loop sweep will not complete
(Sweep/Run LED go off) until all 24 THD+N data points have been taken. The 16
point and 24 point sweeps will both have their data points evenly distributed
between the start and stop frequencies.
External. This is the open-loop mode of Analyzer/Generator operation. For
open-loop operation, the generator and the analyzer are independent of each other.
Sweep detection is still available to recognize the start of a sweep. Set the External
Sweep Attributes for the direction of the sweep (up or down), the type of sweep
(frequency or amplitude), and the minimum change of either frequency or amplitude
(as appropriate to type of sweep) to be recognized as a change to identify sweep
start. When Sweep Detection is enabled, only those settled data points that occur
after a sweep is recognized are plotted.
