AM700 Audio Measurement Set User Manual
Sample Rate. Configures the output sample rate for the audio created by the digital
generator. Choices are 48 kHz, 44.1 kHz, and 32 kHz.
Word Size. Allows you to configure the number of bits used in each audio sample.
The allowable range is 8 to 24 bits.
Dither Type. Use this choice to configure the type of dither. Options are None,
Rectangular, and Triangular.
Interface timing controls are the Clock Frequency mode, variable, and offset settings
and the Clock Phase offset setting.
Clock Frequency-Mode. Configures the output clock frequency. Choices are From
Audio, From Ref, and Variable. From Audio implies using the configured audio
clock frequency (of 48 kHz, 44.1 kHz, or 32 kHz). From Ref implies locking the
signal to the reference input. Variable implies using the Var Freq value (configured
in the next button).
Clock Frequency-Var Freq. When the clock frequency is Variable, this button
specifies the generated frequency. When the clock is generated using this frequency,
the Frequency Offset (specified below) is ignored. The range is 30000.00 Hz to
52000.00 Hz.
Clock Frequency-Offset. This offset (in parts per million) specifies a small clock
offset to be applied to the generated clock when the frequency mode is From Audio
or From Ref. It is ignored in Variable mode. Range is –100 ppm to 100 ppm.
Clock Phase-Offset. This offset (specified in unit intervals) specifies the phase offset
between the AM700 reference output and the digital main output. The offset range
is –180 degrees to +178 degrees.
These settings are for control of the XLR and BNC output voltage amplitudes.
XLR Output. Specifies the output voltage of the digital XLR connector. This is
constrained to always be five times larger than the BNC output voltage. Adjusting
this field also adjusts the BNC output voltage. XLR range is 0.01 V to 10.23 V.
