When the Display button is pressed and held, the large control knob adjusts the
display intensity. Display intensity values range from about 10% for full dim to
100% for full brightness. The power on default setting for display intensity is 90%.
When the display brightness is reduced to 40% or lower, pressing the Display button
immediately sets the brightness to 90%.
Files can be transferred between the DOS system (floppy-disk drive) and the
memory system of the AM700. In the AM700, the files are those stored in ROM at
the time of shipment and those that are user created and stored in NVRAM.
File transfers and moving through the directories is done using the Storage Manager
control screen that is called up when the front-panel Storage button is pressed (see
Figure 2-13). This feature is of primary importance for using the Function
application as it is currently implemented and in the creation of other user files.
