AM700 Audio Measurement Set User Manual
Functions are pre-programmed routines residing in AM700 memory. Refer to the
AM700 Programmer manual and Function Operation beginning on page 4-129 for
further information on programming functions.
Running a Function. You can run stored functions from the front panel using menu
choices selected with the Function button.
1. Press the Function button to display the menu of available functions.
2. Touch the screen at the function name or turn the large control knob to scroll to
the function you wish to run. All available function files from rom:/function and
nvram:/function directories are listed.
3. Touch the Run Function soft key to start the function running. If the function is
not self terminating you can use the Stop Function soft key to halt the function
in progress. When a function runs repetitively, the number of times that it has
run appears in the Running column. Multiple functions can be running at the
same time as long as they are not mutually exclusive operations, such as one
function trying to run FFT multitone operations and another function trying to
make Digital Interface Tester applications measurements.
Creating a Function. A function can be created externally and loaded either through
the GPIB interface or the floppy disk drive as an executable file of SCPI commands.
Once loaded, the file of SCPI commands can be used to run the function
programmed. That function is identified by its DOS file name, so a descriptive name
(label) for the file is helpful for selecting it from the Function list. Refer to Function
Operation beginning on page 4-129 for a more complete description of the Function
feature.
