Control Knob and Display Control Buttons
The control knob, shown in Figure 2-15, lets you perform positioning, selection, or
expansion. Control knob operation depends on the current instrument operating
mode, and its functions are described as a part of instrument operations.

The general operation of this knob is to permit continuously variable positioning or
selection when user selections are active. An active user selection includes choosing
menus, positioning the cursor or waveform, and expanding the display.
The Move and Expand button selects the action of the control knob in positioning or
zooming the waveform display.
Waveform Expansion and Positioning. When the control knob is assigned to
waveform operation, turning the control knob affects display horizontal or vertical
movement or expansion. The axis (x or y) that is active gets the focus of the control
knob, and the action of the knob depends on whether Move or Expand is selected.
You can use the Move/Expand front-panel button to select the action. Small LED
indicators next to the Move and Expand labels show the selected action.
