Touch and Zoom. You can select the expansion point by touching the screen where
you want it to expand. This is the Touch and Zoom feature. In this case, the selected
(highlighted) axis is assumed to be the expansion axis. You can use the Select
front-panel button to switch between the axes. The expansion point is marked by a
small arrow on the graticule scale of the axis that will expand or contract when you
turn the control knob.
In Move mode, expansion or contraction is around the touched point while you
touch the screen, but reverts to the display center and back to Move (positioning
either horizontal or vertical) when you lift your finger from the screen. Vertical or
horizontal positioning in Move mode is selected either by touching the scale of the
axis you wish to position or you can use the Select button to choose.
In Expand mode, the normal expansion (horizontal or vertical, depending on your
selection) is around the display center. If you touch the display on the horizontal
scale, the x-axis (horizontal) is assumed to be the expansion axis. If you touch the
display on the vertical scale, the expansion point is assumed to be the y-axis
(vertical). When cursors are displayed, and one is active, the horizontal expansion
point is around the active cursor when Expand is selected.
The Select button works with the keypad and the control knob. In some cases, such
as the Generator Status display, you can use the Select button to activate an edit
field for making changes. (The keypad can be used to enter numbers directly into a
field editor menu selection after it is highlighted.)
When working with the Move/Expand feature, the Select button is used to switch
between horizontal or vertical axis actions (you can also use the touch screen to
specify axis selections). Another use of the Select button is to select which trace is
the front trace in a dual-trace display in those applications that permit dual-trace
displays. The front trace in a dual-trace display is the brighter one, and cursor
readouts apply to that trace. To switch the traces, touch the dimmer trace vertical
scale and press the Select button. This makes the alternate trace the front trace, and
switches the cursor readouts to apply to that trace. The effects of the Average button
are also switched between traces using this method for selecting the front trace.
