Generator Control Knobs and Buttons
The Amplitude and Frequency knobs shown in Figure 2-16 provide easy access for
controlling the generator, regardless of the state of the instrument or current control
function of the general purpose knob.
Figure 2-16: Audio Generator controls
The Amplitude and Frequency knobs are both assigned to one generator output at a
time or, when the generators are set to Follow, the knobs also affect all following
generators. Follow mode is discussed in the Audio Generator application on
page 4-5. For the assigned generator, rotating a knob adjusts the signal amplitude or
frequency as appropriate. These knobs are used to quickly adjust the amplitude and
frequency of the generator which has the knobs assigned.
NOTE. Do not adjust the amplitude or frequency knob when sweeping. The knobs are
not locked out and will still make adjustments. Alternately, assign the knobs to an
unused generator to prevent accidental changes to a sweep signal.
Pressing this button toggles the analog and digital audio generators on and off.
When a sweep is run, the generator will be turned on if it was not. At the end of the
sweep, the generators will remain on at the last frequency and amplitude setting in
the sweep signal.
