AM700 Audio Measurement Set User Manual
When you have selected the unit you want used for a readout, touch the select
button or, if a pop-up menu is displayed, touch the menu to make the selection. In
the column beneath the Units button are units choices for the more common
selections. These buttons can be used to select V, Hz, mV, kHz, or dBu directly.
Additional choices are available in the pop-up menu. The numerical value of the
measurement also changes to reflect the selected units.
You can change the units assigned to the graticule display axes by touching the axis
you want to change and pressing and holding the Units key to bring up the pop up
menu for selections. Make the units selection for the axis as just described for the
measurement readouts.
When a measurement has been made, you can select it as a reference against which
following measurements can be checked. Pressing the Set Ref front-panel button
sets the current measurement as the reference and saves it in memory for later use.
A reference file can also be saved to a floppy disk for permanent storage and future
use when needed for comparison.
In the numerical fields, you can set a current setting to be a reference value. Select
the field you want to make a reference, set the number you want to be the reference
value, then press the Set Ref key. The new value in the numerical field now
indicates the difference between the reference setting number and the value in the
field as it changes. For example, in the Real-Time readout of Ch1 Level in the
Audio Analyzer application, select the Level readout by touching it or activate the
RT window by touching it. Then, use the Select button to highlight the Ch 1 Level
readout. Now press Set Ref. The new value seen is in dBr, delta V, or delta mV,
depending on the units of the readout at the time it was set to a reference. The
numerical value shows the difference between the reference level and the new level
as the level of the input signal changes.
You can lock the front panel controls and touch screen by using the FP_LOCK
selection in the Functions menu or via the remote control interface. To unlock the
front panel, press the Enter key on the front panel.
