ON/OFF Push Button. The AM700 main power switch is on the rear panel. It is a
push-push switch (push on, push off) that is on when latched in. The front panel
Power switch must also be on for the AM700 to power up.
WARNING. Dangerous voltages are present within the power supply when the
rear-panel power switch is on, regardless of the position of the front-panel power
switch. Do not operate the AM700 with any covers removed. Refer all servicing of
the instrument to a qualified service person.
Line Selector (115/230). The Line Selector switch must be set to the proper mains
voltage before the AM700 is connected. The AM700 is shipped from the factory set
for the operating voltage of the destination country (115 V or 230 V). If the setting
is not correct, it must be changed before connecting the power cord to the mains
voltage. When switching to a different range, the fuse must also be changed to
provide the protection needed for the selected operating voltage. At each nominal
voltage setting (115 or 230), the power supply operates over a range of voltage. The
115 V range is 90 VAC to 132 VAC, and the 230 V range is 180 VAC to 253 VAC.
In either range, the power supply operates from 50 Hz or 60 Hz mains.
