CAUTION.
When changing the line voltage selector switch, to prevent damage to
the AM700 you must also change the fuse to provide proper protection for the
operating voltage in use.
Fuse. The mains fuse provides protection in the event of a major failure of the
AM700 power supply. Two sizes of fuses are specified, one for 115 VAC operation
and the other for 230 VAC operation. Refer to the Fuse Rating specifications on
page A-27 in Appendix A for fuse ratings.
Analog Trigger Input. The analog trigger BNC input, shown in Figure 2-27, is for
application of a TTL-level trigger signal for use with the Audio Monitor application.
Other sources for the trigger signal are the signals applied to the Channel 1 or
Channel 2 measurement channels. You can specify the trigger source selection in the
Audio Monitor menu when the Audio Monitor application is active.

The input/output ports of the AM700 are used for printer support, remote control,
driving an external VGA monitor, input of commands from a keyboard, and the
digital signal interface.
COM1 and COM2. These unidirectional serial RS-232C DTE ports with DB-9
connectors, shown in Figure 2-28, allow serial printers or plotters to be connected.
Refer to the AM700 Programmer Manual for information about operating with
printers or plotters on the serial communications ports. The conventional choices of
baud rate, stop bits, parity, and hardware or software handshaking for RS-232 serial
communications are provided.
