Remote Connector. This DB9 connector, shown in Figure 2-31, provides a user
interface for contact-closure remote control. Its switching actions must be defined in
a function to be useful for controlling the actions of the AM700. Refer to Rear
Panel Hardware on page A-26 in Appendix A for pin-out information.

The Digital Input/Output connectors, shown in Figure 2-32, include the optical in
and out ports for fiber optics applications, the AES REF XLR in and out connectors,
the two BNC unbalanced in and out connectors, and the DSP Port connector for
input and output directly to and from the DSP (digital signal processor).
Optical IN, OUT. Digital audio signals on an optical fiber cable can be connected to
the TOSLINKT IN fiber optic connector to be measured. The AM700 digital audio
generator output is available for application to an optical fiber cable at the OUT
optical connector. The IN connector is selectable to provide the digital signal input;
the OUT connector provides an output signal whenever the AES digital generator is
supplying a signal.
