Your surtace burners are lit bv electric ignition,
elilninating the need fi_i" standing pilot lights
with constantly burning flalnes.
All five igniters inake clicking sounds and spark
even when only a single burner is being turned
o11.Do not touch any of tile burners when tile
igniters are clicking.
The burners on this cooktop relight
autolnaticallv if the flalne goes out. This
helps prevent the inconvenience of having
to manually relight a burner.
Occasionally, tile burners inay spark if excess
wind or draft blows tile flanle away from tile
b/lI'neI"S llaIl/e sensoI'.
All of tile burner ignitei_ spark while a burner
is relighting.
In case of a power outage, you can light the
surthce burners on your cooktop with a nmtch.
Hold a lighted inatch to the burner, then turn
the knob to the HIGH position. Use extreme
caution when lighting burners this way,
Surthce burners in use when an electrical power

Push tile control knob down and turn it
counterclockwise to the desired position fl'otn
HI to i,O or simmer (SIM).
After the burner ignites, turn tile knob in
either direction to a(!just the flalne size.
To turn a burner off, turn the knob clockwise,
as tar as it will go, to tile OFF position.
All of tile b/lI'neI's can be used for both
general cooking and simmering. The center
burner is tile inaxilntun output burner ti)I"
larger pans or tast boiling operations.
Do not operate a burner fl/r an extended
period of tilne without cookware oi1 the
grate. The finish on the grate may chip
without cookware to absorb tile heat.
Be sure tile burners and grates are cool
before w)u place your hand, a pot holder,
cleaning cloths or other inaterials oi1 theln.
For your convenience, the indicator lalnp in
the bezel for each knob verifies the burner
is "ON".
Be sure wm turn tile control knob to "OFF"
when vou finish cooking.
How to
select
Jlame size
X4'atch tile flame, not tile knob, as vou
reduce heat.
Tile flame size on a gas burner should match
the cookware you are using.
FOIl SAFE HANDI,ING OF COOKX4;_tRE,
NEVER I,ET THE FLAME EXTEND UP THE
SIDES OF THE COOKX4;_tRE. Any flame larger
than tile bottom of tile cookware is wasted and
only serves to heat the handle.
NOTE: Tile center nmxinmln output
burner has an extra large flame. Use 10"
or larger dialneter cookware when using
high heat settings.
