HOOK-UP INSTRUCTIONS Monster Tip For a comprehensive installation, use a high performance Monster SIRIUS Home Antenna or Dish Mount Antenna to reliably receive SIRIUS signals while minimizing rooftop clutter. Step 1 While the Monster SIRIUS & Satellite TV Signal Combiner is compatible with most DISH™ Network and DIRECTV® systems, there are several instances in which a particular configuration may not be compatible.
DISH™ Network Systems Compatibility Chart Type of LNBF Number Multiswitch Receiver/ of LNBFs Present? Tuner Type Compatible? DISH Network Legacy Model LNBF There exist three models of LNBFs which are found in DISH Network systems: • Dish Pro LNBF • Dish Pro Plus LNBF • Legacy LNBF Of these three models, the Legacy LNBF is not compatible with the SIRIUS Satellite Radio/TV Combiner or Splitter. To determine which model of LNBF your DISH Network system is using, examine the satellite dish or the LNBF located on the satellite dish.
DISH Network Legacy Model Receivers/Tuners The Monster SIRIUS & Satellite TV Signal Combiner is compatible with the following DISH Network receivers/tuners: • Dish Pro Single Receiver/Tuner • Dish Pro Plus Dual Receiver/Tuner • Legacy Receiver/Tuner with a DishPro Adapter If your configuration is using a Legacy receiver/tuner, check to be sure it has a DishPro adapter connected to it.
tuner, and not in the leg with the incompatible Legacy receiver/tuner. DISH Network systems that receive three orbital locations are not compatible with the SIRIUS Satellite Radio/TV Combiner or Splitter. Systems that receive one or two orbital locations are compatible, as well as systems receiving four orbital locations that use a “DP Plus 44” multiswitch.
DIRECTV® SYSTEMS The incompatibilities for DIRECTV systems are limited to two categories: configurations using three LNBFs with a multiswitch that is not powered externally, and configurations using three LNBFs with a multiswitch co-located with the LNBFs at the satellite dish. The following compatibility chart shows compatible configurations, and the sections following discuss in detail certain incompatibilities.
Step 2 Different configurations exist in satellite TV systems. Refer to the illustrations to identify your particular configuration before proceeding with the installation. NOTE Multiswitches, signal splitters, DishPro adapters (DISH Network) or similar device prevent passage of the SIRIUS signal, so both the SIRIUS signal and satellite TV signal must be combined and split either before or after these devices.

Step 3 Once you have determined how your SIRIUS Satellite Radio/TV Combiner will integrate with your existing satellite TV configuration, begin by removing the connection that runs from your satellite TV dish to the inside your home, located on the dish itself (usually on the arm that extends from the dish to the sky). If your satellite TV dish is not already installed, consult your satellite TV owner’s manual and install as directed before proceeding.

Step 4 Using the 3 ft. (0.91m) RG-6 cable included in your kit, connect one end to the device from which the cable in Step 3 was disconnected (i.e., the satellite dish, the multiswitch, or the signal splitter, etc.) and the other end to the “DBS IN” port on the Combiner. Then, using the 30 ft. (9.14m) RG-58 cable included in your kit, connect one end to your SIRIUS antenna and the other end to the “SIRIUS IN” port on the Combiner.
Step 6 Using the 10 ft. (3.04m) RG-58 cable included in your kit, connect one end to the “SIRIUS OUT” port on the Splitter and the other to your SIRIUS receiver/tuner port labeled “ANT IN” or “SAT IN”. Connect the cable end with the push-on type connector to your SIRIUS receiver/tuner and the cable end with the screw-on type connector to the Splitter. Then, using the 10 ft. (3.
Troubleshooting If the SIRIUS receiver displays the message “ANTENNA NOT DETECTED”, the first thing to do is to verify that you have installed the SIRIUS/DBS Signal Combiner and Splitter correctly. 1. Follow the step-by-step installation instructions again, verifying each connection and cable type, and checking that the cable connectors are screwed on tight. 2. Is there any device such as a Multiswitch, Splitter, DishPro Adapter, etc.
If the SIRIUS receiver displays the message “ACQUIRING SIGNAL”, then the SIRIUS signal is weak. 1. Review the installation instructions included with the SIRIUS outdoor antenna and be sure that the outdoor antenna is installed properly, and aimed in the correct direction, as explained in the installation instructions for the outdoor antenna. 2. It may be necessary to temporarily connect the SIRIUS receiver directly to the outdoor antenna to verify that the outdoor antenna is receiving a good SIRIUS signal.
