CamEvator Lowering Arm General Description: The CamEvator Lowering arm is a device for improving the installation and servicing of overhead cameras and select video equipment. It allows operators and maintenance personnel the ability to lower equipment to ground level for servicing. The lowering arm ships from the factory fully assembled, tested and ready for installation and use.
Owner/Employer Responsibilities: Ensure that all Lowering Arm operators are qualified and that they are trained in the safe use and operation of the lift using the recommended manufacturers operating instructions. Establish procedures to periodically inspect the lowering arm in accordance with the lift manufacturer’s instructions by inspectors that are qualified and that they are adequately trained in the inspection of the lift.
Operating Guidelines: Operator control input is through the Operator Control/Interface Box. The operator must have a key to operate the unit. Hold the key in a “counter-clockwise” rotation direction to Raise the unit. Hold the key in a “clockwise” direction to Lower the unit. Do Not allow unit to rotate or twist during hoisting – When returning camera mount carriage up to housing, it is mandatory that the cables are not allowed to twist. If the cables do become twisted, discontinue lifting.
Troubleshooting: There are (9) switches that perform various functions in the system. They are: - Over Tension Mechanical Switch – Shuts system off if over tension condition is detected. - Under Tension Mechanical Switch – Shuts system off if under tension condition is detected. - Low spool Mechanical Switch – Shuts system off and only allows lifting direction. - Carriage Home Locking Pin Electrical Proximity Switch – Detects when the carriage locking pin is activated.
Preventive Maintenance Schedule: Ground Level: During Each Servicing of the Camera, or raising/lowering of the payload: - Ensure that all camera/payload attachments are rigid, properly installed and secure. - Watch carriage/payload system during operation for any abnormal problems. - Visually inspect cable for any damage, degradation or corrosion.
