Select Coffee (7). 4 Place the relevant Filter (12) or (13) into the Filter Holder (14). Fill with espresso coffee and tamp with Tamping Spoon (16), or use an E.S.E. pod. Plug the coffee maker into the mains.
CM47150MUK rev3_Layout 1 02/09/2011 14:12 Page 4 Using the Steam Wand 2 1 Fill the Water Tank (5) and place into the coffee maker. Ensure the On/Off Switch (9) and Control Knob (2) are set to Off. Select Steam (7). 4 3 Slide the On/Off Switch (9) to on. The Power Indicator Light (8) illuminates. The Temperature Indicator Light (6) will turn off when the coffee maker is ready. Plug the coffee maker into the mains. 5 Place the Steam Wand (3) 10mm deep into a jug of milk.

The Temperature Indicator Light (6) will turn off when the coffee maker is ready. Follow steps 1,2,3 of ‘Using your coffee maker’ on Page 3. 5 6 Place an empty mug under the Steam Wand (3). Turn the Control Knob (2) to Steam. When done, turn the Control Knob to Off BEFORE removing the mug from underneath the Steam Wand.

Using the correct type of coffee grinds When making espresso coffee it is important to use the correct type of coffee grinds. Espresso coffee is a very fine grind which is designed to work with espresso filters. Using other types of coffee in an espresso filter (such as filter coffee grinds,) will result in a poorer tasting coffee and could clog the filter.
CM47150MUK rev3_Layout 1 02/09/2011 14:12 Page 7 Troubleshooting Problem Reason Solution • Water is dispensing from the Steam Wand • Steam Control is open • Rotate the Steam Control so its closed • The coffee temperature is too cold • Heater block is not hot enough before dispensing • Before dispensing Coffee, make sure the Temperature Indicator Light (6) has switched off.
