Larger antennas have t he advant age of providing narrower beam widt hs and high
isot ropic gain, which yields bett er link perform ance ( higher fade m argin, bet t er
availability) , and im proves im m unit y t o spatial int erference (due t o the sm aller beam
widths) . However, larger antennas are m ore cost ly to purchase and inst all than sm aller
ant ennas and in som e cases, t hey require special equipm ent for inst allation due t o
narrower beam widths. They are also m ore easily affect ed by wind.
1. Select where t he cable will ent er t he building from t he out side.
2. Det erm ine t he length of cable required. Allow t hree ext ra feet on each end t o allow
for st rain relief, as well as any bends and turns.
