3 .8 .5 .1 Set t ing the I DU I P Addre ss
1. The PCs net w ork configurat ion m ust be set with t he parameters provided at
the end of t his guide.
2. The I DU should be accessible from your PC at t he default I P address provided
at the end of t his guide. A net work ping can be done t o verify connect ivity t o
the I DU.
3. St art web browser and use the SDI DU
TM
default I P address as t he url.
4. Log in at t he login prom pt . The usernam e and password are provided at t he
end of this guide.
5. The GUI includes a navigation m enu in the left fram e. I f t his navigat ion m enu
is not visible, m ake sure t he Java environm ent is properly inst alled and act ive.
I n t he navigation m enu, select Adm inist ration, t hen Net work Configurat ion,
and t hen General. The I P address, I P Net m ask, and I P Gat eway are shown.
6. Ent er the new I P address, I P Netm ask, and I P Gateway. The gateway m ust be
in the same subnet as t he I P address for proper operat ion. Click Updat e t o
change t he values.
7. To verify the new I P address, change the PC's network configuration t o be on
the sam e subnet as t he new I P address set in the unit and a net work 'ping'
m ay be perform ed to the new address.
8. To continue using the GUI , point t he web browser to the new I P address.
3 .8 .5 .2 Link Configu r a t ion
Use t he GUI t o configure the SDI DU
TM
as follows:
1. To st art t he GUI , open a web browser and use t he SDI DU
TM
I P address
( 192.168.1.1xx) as t he URL and log in when prom pted.
2. Use the fram e on the left side of the window t o navigate t o Radio Link.
3. Select t he subcat egory Link Configuration.
4. Select t he operating mode. I f the SDI DU
TM
has one m odem inst alled and is
connect ed to one ODU, select st andard. I f t he SDI DU
TM
has t w o m odem s inst alled
and is connected t o two ODUs, select 1+ 1 diversity or 1+ 1 non- diversity for a
protect ed link or east - w est for a 2+ 0 ring configuration.
5. Follow t he wizard located here t o ent er the rest of t he required set t ings.
