The transm it LED indicat es full power will all 8 LEDs illum inat ed t o m inim um power with 1
LED illum inat ed.
For sim plex applicat ions such as broadcast STL or ENG where t he ODU is a receiver or a
transm itter only t hen both LED bars represent either RSL for receiver ODU or t ransm it
power for t ransm itt er ODU. For RSL each LED represents 5 dB, with brightness
m odulat ed from off for 0 dB to fully on for 5 dB increm ent s.

To use t he built - in t uning of t he ODU 5300 or 5800 antenna, a com plete link is required,
with both ends of the link roughly pointed at each other, and t ransm itt ing.
Once t he links are roughly point ed, connect the voltm et er t o the RSSI ( Receive Signal
St rength I ndicat ion) BNC connect or seen on t he ODU. This m ode output s 0 t o + 2.5 Volts.
Adj ust the ant enna for m axim um volt age. The RSSI volt age is linearly calibrated from 2.5
Volt s for m axim um RSL ( received signal level) at 20 dBm t o 0Volt s for m inim um RSL at
- 90 dBm . This m apping charact erist ic is plot t ed below in Figure 3- 20.

The Web GUI m ay be accessed via NMS by connecting a CAT5 patch cable between the

front- panel NMS port and a PC. The PCs network int erface m ust be configured t o
an open I P address within t he same subnet . For t he default Moseley Event - HD
configuration, t he I P address of the PC needs t o be 192.168.1.x, where x ( bet ween 1 and
