8 Chapter 1 Getting Started Where to begin with your CL900
Step 2: Connect to a wireless network
The CL900 comes with built-in 802.11 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Your tablet may also be
equipped with mobile broadband (WWAN), which includes a GPS receiver that you can use
with most third-party GPS navigation and mapping applications.

OTE: To connect your CL900 to a wired Ethernet LAN, use the Ethernet port available on the
CL900 docking station (sold separately).
Here are the tasks to follow to set up available wireless networks
• Enable wireless
• Set up 802.11 Wi-Fi (WLAN)
• Set up mobile broadband with GPS (WWAN)
• Set up Bluetooth

OTE: To set up your wireless networks, you use the Motion Dashboard. The Motion Dashboard is
an application installed on your CL900 to help you manage your tablet PC. For more
information about the Motion Dashboard, see “Using the Motion Dashboard” on page 14.
Enable wireless
The first task when setting up wireless is to enable the appropriate network adapter using
the Motion Dashboard.
To enable wireless adapters
1. From Windows Start menu, select Motion Computing > Motion Dashboard.
2. Tap Wireless.
3. Select the check boxes next to all wireless networks you intend to use:
• Enable Bluetooth Internal Wireless
• Enable 802.11 Internal Wireless
• Enable Mobile Broadband with GPS (if installed)
Set up 802.11 Wi-Fi (WLAN)
Connect to the Internet and other computers wirelessly over 802.11 Wi-Fi. Many public
places, including hotels, schools, hospitals and airports, offer hot spots to provide wireless
access. 802.11 Wi-Fi may be available in your home if you have an appropriate wireless
router.
To set up 802.11 Wi-Fi
1. Make sure 802.11 Internal Wi-Fi wireless is enabled from the Motion Dashboard.
2. From the notification area, tap the wireless network icon .
3. Select the desired wireless network from the list of available networks.
