26 Chapter 2 Using your CL900 Setting display options

IP: For successful photos:
• Hold the tablet steady and allow it to focus.
• If your pen is tethered, ensure that the tether is not in front of the camera lens.
• Ensure that you have adequate lighting.
• Use the Edit mode to improve your photograph.
Using the web camera
To start the web camera
1. If it is not currently the default camera, open Microsoft Silverlight and select USB 1.3
WebCam.
2. Open the ExTOUCH tool bar, launch the ExTOUCH main window, then start the Photo
Paint app. See “Setting up the cameras” on page 23 for details.
3. Move the tablet to display the desired subject in the web camera window.
4. To exit the web camera, tap the X at the top of the window.
Setting display options
Use the procedures in this section to customize your display settings. You can adjust the
brightness level, rotate the display and change the order in which the display rotates.
Adjusting the display brightness
You can change the brightness of the display which is useful for conserving battery power.
To adjust the display brightness
1. Open
Motion Dashboard.
2. Tap Display.
3. Move the Brightness slider to the desired level.

IP: For optimal battery conservation and viewability, set the brightness scale to the mid-point
or slightly above.
4. Select one of the following:
• Fixed—Sets the display brightness to a constant level. Move the slider to adjust the
display to the desired brightness level. When set to Fixed, the ambient light sensor is
ignored.
• Dynamic—Uses the ambient light sensor to maintain an appropriate brightness level
for the current lighting conditions. The Dynamic setting helps to conserve battery
power.
