1. Setting up Follow these simple steps to prepare your phone ready for use. Finding a location Make sure your phone is: • Within 1.8 metres of a power and phone socket so that the cords will reach. • At least 1 metre away from other electrical appliances, to avoid interference. • Not located in humid or damp conditions, e.g. in a bathroom. Connecting your phone Connect the base power supply into the socket on the back of the base. Plug the other end into the mains power socket.

Symbol Explanation Menu Indicates more characters to display to the left Indicates more characters to display to the right LED Lens Find Handset Indicates new CID & CID full (flashing) Displayed when viewing the phonebook list or in the phonebook menu. Flashes when the phonebook is full.
Symbol Explanation Function Button press Indicates the alarm has been set. Preparatory call Enter number, Always displayed when your handset is on. If it flashes and you hear a warning tone during a call if the handset moves out of range, you will need to move closer to the base for clearer reception. Displayed when the keypad has been locked.

The number is shown in the display. After a short delay the call timer will start timing the call. You can use hands free mode to talk to your caller without holding the handset to your ear. You can speak into the handset microphone and listen over the loudspeaker.
