8.3 Troubleshooting Table for Receiver
Table Table 8-3 lists the possible causes of, and corrections for, receiver problems.

Not Turn On
1. Dead Battery. Replace with charged battery.

No Receive Audio, or
Receiver Does Not Unmute
Programming 1. Does the transmitted signal match the receiver configu-
ration (PL, DPL, etc.)?
2. With the monitor function enabled, can the radio be
unmuted?
Audio Distorted or Not Loud
Enough
Synthesizer Not On Fre-
quency
Check synthesizer frequency by measuring the transmit-
ter frequency; realign it off by more than ±150 Hz (VHF),
±500 Hz (UHF)
RF Sensitivity Poor

Check synthesizer frequency by measuring the transmit-

2. Antenna Switch/Connec-

Send radio to depot.

Check RF front-end tuning for optimum sensitivity using
the tuner.
