Typing Tips
With the keypad open:
Enter one capital letter Press Shift
Use caps lock, until you
press Shift again
Press Shift twice
Enter alternate characters
in the corners of keys
Press Alternate
Enter several alternate
characters, until you press
Alternate again
Press Alternate
twice
Enter symbols Press Symbols
Select text
(Scroll left/right), or
skip pages
(Scroll up/down)
Press Shift +
Scroll
Cut selected text Press and hold >
Cut
Copy selected text Press and hold >
Copy
Paste cut or copied text Press and hold >
Paste
To change your text entry settings and see the
dictionary of terms you’ve used, from the home
screen, touch Menu > Settings > Language &
keyboard.
Delete a character (hold to
delete more)
Press Delete
Delete the current line Press Alternate
+ Delete
Jump to the
beginning/end of a line
Press Alternate
+ Scroll
Start a new line (email or
social networking) or send
the message (text
messages)
