Emergency Calling
Placing International Phone Calls
When making an international call from outside of the United States and
Canada, you can either enter the international access code directly (for example,
011 in the United States) or use Plus Dialing.
You can make international calls while traveling outside of the United States
and Canada from your Phonebook if you have stored the numbers with Plus
Dialing. See Adding Phonebook Entrieson page 46 and Plus Dialingon
page 57 for more information.
NOTE: Your service default is International Calls Restricted. Contact
Customer Care to obtain international dialing access.
NOTE:International calls placed within the United States and Canada
do not require an international access code.
To make an international call using Plus Dialing:
Emergency Calling
Dial 911 to be connected to an emergency response center. If you are on an
active call, you must end it before calling 911.
When you make an emergency call, your phones GPS Enabled feature can help
emergency service personnel find you, if you are in a location where your
phone's GPS antenna has a clear view of the open sky and your local emergency
response center has the equipment to handle location information. See GPS
Enabled on page 119, and particularly IMPORTANT: Things to Keep in
Mindon page 120 and Making an Emergency Callon page 121, for further
information on the limitations of this feature. Because of the limitations of this
feature, always provide your best knowledge of your location to the emergency
response center when you make a 911 call.

Press and hold 0 for two seconds. A 0 appears, then changes to a
+.
NOTE: The network translates the +into the appropriate
international access code needed to place the call.

Enter the country code, city code, or area code, and phone number.

Press s to place the call.

Press e to end the call.
