Talkaround Using the Dynamic Regrouping Feature This feature allows the dispatcher to temporarily reassign selected radios to a single special channel so they can communicate with each other.

Your radio scans for voice activity by cycling through the channel/group sequence specified in the scan list for the current channel/group. Your radio can support up to 128 scan lists, with a maximum of 16 members in a list. You can add, delete, or prioritize channels by editing a scan list. NOTE: Priority scan is only available in trunking mode.

When you start a scan, your radio cycles through the programmed scan list for the current channel looking for voice activity.

The radio stays on that channel for a programmed time period known as “hang time”. Procedure: 1 Press the PTT button during hang time. The green LED lights up. 2 Wait for the Talk Permit Tone to finish (if enabled) and Advanced Features speak clearly into the microphone.

The second line displays Alarm Rcvd. 2 A tone sounds and the red LED blinks. Advanced Features 3 Press R to clear the alarm indication.

When your radio goes out of the range of the system, it can no longer lock onto a control channel. Using the Failsoft System Procedure: The failsoft system ensures continuous radio communications during a trunked system failure. If a trunking system fails completely, the radio goes into failsoft operation and automatically switches to its failsoft channel.
