D main attractions R You can do much more with your phone than make and receive calls! This section describes some of your phone’s highlights. Zoom number display is a smart function that lets you see the screen numbers more easily. Your phone automatically alters the screen font size depending on how many digits are in the number. Because most people enter 7 digits most frequently, your font size is large most of the time and becomes smaller only when necessary.
D search by find When you enter the first letter of an entry in your phonebook, a pop-up screen will ask you to input the name you would like to search for. R You can input the first several letters of the target entry’s name, then press OK. The phonebook will jump to the closest match entry. You can enter up to twelve letters. lantern A The Lantern feature enables you to change your phone’s idle display into a flashlight.
D The phone will prompt you to assign a number key. datebook R To change the week view or month view: Find it: Press M > Office Tools > Datebook > Week or Month The datebook is a calendar that lets you schedule and organize events, such as appointments and meetings. You can review your schedule of events by month, week, or day, and have the datebook play a reminder alarm for specific events.
D add a new event You can add a new event two different ways: 5 Press DONE to store the new event and return to the day view. Find it: Press M > Office Tools > Datebook > select a date > M > Day View > [New Entry] add a new task or Find it: Press M > Office Tools > Datebook > select a date > M > New > Task R Find it: Press M > Office Tools > Datebook > select a date > M > New > Event A To set up the Event detail, follow the steps below. A title is required for a datebook event.
D 5 Press DONE to store the new task and return to the day view. change event/task information R To change information about an existing event/task: Find it: Press M > Office Tools > Datebook 8 Use the keypad keys to enter the new information. 9 Press DONE to store the information. copy an event/task To copy information from a current event/task to a new event/task: A 1 Press S left or right to scroll to the scheduled event/task day. 2 Press M > Day View to display the day view.
D Your phone assumes that you want to change the date and displays the Date field. 2 Press M > Day View to display the day view. 8 Use the keypad keys to enter the date information. 3 Press S up or down to scroll to the event to delete. 9 Press S left or right to scroll to the day, month, and year. 4 Press M to open the Datebook Menu. 10 Press OK to save the copy of the event/ task. 6 Press SELECT to select Delete.

D From the active view finder, you can press M to view the Pictures Menu: option Go To Pictures R You can set the camera to take a photo automatically after a 5 or 10 second delay: Find it: Press M > Multimedia > Camera > M > Auto-Timed Capture Go to the picture library. Auto-Timed Capture 1 Press S up or down to select 5 or 10 seconds, then press SELECT. The screen returns to the active view finder. A Set the camera to take a photo automatically after a 5 or10 second delay.
D You can choose from the following lighting options: Automatic, Sunny, Cloudy, Indoor (Home), Indoor (Office), or Night. R set the image exposure Find it: Press M > Multimedia > Camera > M > Picture Setup > Exposure A 1 Press S up or down the scale and select the desired exposure setting for your picture. 2 Press SELECT to save your settings. The exposure is set to zero as the default.
D set the image quality pictures Use this function to set the image quality of captured images: From the Picture Library, you can view images and file details, set the picture as wallpaper or caller ID, or delete unwanted images. R Find it: Press M > Multimedia > Camera > M > Picture Setup > Image Quality 1 Press S up or down to choose Good, Better, or Best. 2 Press SELECT to save your settings. Find it: Press M > Multimedia > Pictures A Note: Higher image quality uses more memory space.
D 1 In the Pictures Viewer, first select the image you want to set as wallpaper. 2 Press M to open Pictures Menu. R 3 Press S up or down to select Wallpaper. The selected image will be applied as the phone wallpaper. set an image as caller ID A You can set an image to display as Caller ID for incoming calls: Find it: Press M > Multimedia > Pictures > M > Set As 1 In the Pictures Viewer, first select the image you want to set as caller ID. 2 Press M to open Pictures Menu.
D rename an image 2 Press M to open Pictures Menu. Captured images are automatically saved with a unique filename. You can change the filename to suit your needs: 3 Press S up or down to select Delete. Find it: Press M > Multimedia > Pictures > M > Rename Use this function to delete all captured images saved to the phone: 1 In the Pictures Viewer, first select the image you want to rename. Find it: Press M > Multimedia > Pictures > M > Delete All 2 Press M to open Pictures Menu.
D The FM radio will automatically tune in the lowest available frequency when you use it for the first time. After that, it will tune in the frequency last used. Press S up and down to increase or decrease the volume. D set the radio presets 1 Tune in the desired frequency by pressing S left or right. 2 Press and hold number keys to save that number as the preset. R select a radio preset Press number keys to select the corresponding radio preset. To play the FM Radio through the speaker, press SPEAKER. To change to the headset, press EARPIECE. Note: The headset must be inserted into the phone for the FM radio to play through the speaker.
D Note: You can download ringtones via SMS messages. 2 Press READ to open the message. store iMelody 3 Press YES to store vCard in the phonebook. Press NO if you don’t want to store vCard. To store the iMelody: R 1 Press STORE. The file name appears. 2 Press OK to save the iMelody into flash. A Storing your iMelody may fail for two reasons: if the filename is duplicated, or if the memory is full. If the filename is duplicated rename the file under My Tones.

3 Roam Indicator − appears when your phone uses another network system outside your home network. D R 6 Ring Style Indicator − shows the ring style setting. y = loud ring z = soft ring | = vibrate 4 LINE Indicator − indicates if your phone is using Line 1 or Line 2. 5 Message Indicator − appears when you have a new voice or text message: r = text message Note: A flashing message indicator means that your inbox is full. You will not be able to receive new messages until you delete old ones.
D menus From the home screen, press M to enter the main menu, then press S to scroll up and down through the main menu list. Select highlighted menu feature. Scroll up or down. Symbol Enter symbols only. set up text entry mode A To set your text entry modes, press M in a text entry screen and select the desired entry mode. Tip: Pressing 0 will toggle between uppercase and lowercase in an English alphabet text entry. iTAP™ mode Press # in a text entry screen to switch to iTAP mode.
D For example, if you press 8 once, the phone displays: Character displays at insertion point. D navigation key If you forget other codes: If you forget your SIM PIN code or PIN2 code, contact your service provider. Press the navigation key S left or right to scroll and highlight options. R codes & passwords A Your phone’s 4-digit unlock code is originally set to 1234. If your service provider did not change these codes, you should change them: Find it: Press M > Settings > Security > New Passwords You can also change your SIM PIN.
D To manually lock your phone: answered without unlocking the keypad. Find it: Press M > Settings > Security > Phone Lock > Lock Now R To automatically lock your phone whenever you turn it on: Find it: Press M > Settings > Security > Phone Lock > Automatic Lock > On A • When the keypad is locked, there is a 1 second wait time between each key press. If you press a key prematurely, the display does not update and it could appear as if the phone has powered down.
D customize ring style R calls and other events. Your changes are saved in the current ring style profile: Your phone rings and/or vibrates to notify you of an incoming call, message, or other event. This ring and/or vibration are called an alert. You can select 1 of 6 different alert profiles: Loud Ring, Soft Ring, Vibrate, Vibe and Ring, Vibe then Ring, and Silent.
D 3 Press CHANGE to select Notes. Press 0 to insert a flat & or sharp * before the note. 4 Use the number keys to enter notes for the tone. Change note length by inserting 0-5 after the note. 5 Press OK to store the notes. Use the 7 to insert a reset r. 6 Press CHANGE to select Name. Scroll left or right by pressing the S, or use * and #. 2 Press SELECT to go to Tone Details. R A 7 Use the keypad keys to enter the name for the tone. 8 Press OK to store the name. 9 Press DONE to store the tone.
D edit a tone Find it: Press M > Ring Styles > My Tones 2 Press M to open My Tones. 1 Press S up or down to scroll to the tone you want to edit. 4 Press SELECT to select Delete. R 3 Press S up or down to scroll to Delete. 5 Press YES to confirm the deletion. 2 Press EDIT to open the tone details. 3 Press S up or down to scroll to the details you want to edit (Name or Notes). browse my tones 4 Press CHANGE to select the details you want to edit. 1 Press S up or down to scroll to a tone.
D wallpaper You can set a picture as a wallpaper (background) image on your home screen: R display appearance Find it: Press M > Personalize > Wallpaper Tip: To preview a wallpaper, select a wallpaper, then press S up or down. Tip: This feature helps save your screen but not your battery. To extend battery life, turn off the screen saver.
D To save battery life, the display can turn off in idle mode when you’re not using your phone. The display turns back on when you press any key. To set how long your phone waits before the display turns off: R Find it: Press M > Settings > Initial Setup > Display Timeout answer options A You can use additional methods to answer an incoming call.
calls D R From the Dialed Calls list, press M to see the following options: To make and answer calls, see page 19. recent calls A Your phone keeps lists of incoming and outgoing calls, even for calls that didn’t connect. The most recent calls are listed first. The oldest calls are deleted as new calls are added: Find it: Press M > Recent Calls 1 Highlight Received Calls or Dialed Calls, and press SELECT. 2 Highlight a call. • To call the number, press N.
D option Add Digits Attach Number redial Add digits after the number. Attach a number from the phonebook or recent calls lists. R Press the Send/End key again to call the last dialed number. Note: When redialing using your headset and a locked keypad, you can only call the last dialed number. return a call A 1 Press N from the home screen to see the Dialed Calls list, or press M > Recent calls > Received Calls, Dialed Calls, or Notepad.
D notepad hold or mute a call Your phone stores the most recent string of digits entered on the keypad in a temporary memory location called the notepad. These digits can be the last phone number that you called or a phone number that you simply entered but did not call. These digits remain in the notepad even when you turn off the phone. When you are on a call: R Press M > Hold to put all active calls on hold. Press M > Mute to put all active calls on mute.
D caller ID your phone is locked or when you are prompted to enter a code or password. Calling Line Identification (caller ID) shows the phone number of an incoming call on your display. R Your phone shows the caller’s name when it is stored in your phonebook or Incoming Call when caller ID Information isn’t available. Note: Emergency numbers vary by country. Your phone’s preprogrammed emergency number(s) may not work in all locations.

Note: To change 1-Touch numbers, go to M > Phonebook > VIEW > EDIT. voicemail When you receive a voicemail message, your phone displays 1 New Voicemail Message and a new voicemail indicator.
D insert special characters into dialing sequences You can insert special characters, as well as numbers, in a phone number. R option p (pause) Your phone waits until the call connects before it dials the next digit(s) in the series. w (wait) Your phone waits until the call connects, then prompts you for confirmation before it dials the next digit(s). A You can add a pause or a wait while your call is dialing. To add a pause before the phone connects, press * twice.
D other features R advanced calling feature conference call attach a phone number call forwarding During a call: feature call barring A Dial next number, press N, and then press LINK. Press M > Phonebook and scroll to the desired entry. Press M > Attach Number, and choose from Phonebook, Dialed Calls, or Received Calls.
feature fixed dial D feature DTMF tones Change DTMF tones: When you turn on Fixed Dial you can call only numbers stored in the Fixed Dial list. R M > Settings > Initial Setup > DTMF To turn Fixed Dial on or off: Tip: To turn Fixed Dial on and off, first enter your SIM PIN2.
D feature dial number Call a number stored in the phonebook: R M > PhoneBook > highlight the phonebook entry >N A Shortcut: In the Phonebook, press keypad keys to enter the first letter of an entry name to jump to the entry. 58 other features—phonebook feature search entry Press a keypad key one or by more times to jump to entries that begin with the key’s letters. Press a second letter to jump to entries beginning with the two letters you entered.
D feature copy phonebook entry Copy a phonebook entry from the phone to the SIM card or from the SIM card to the phone: R feature copy multiple entries M > PhoneBook > highlight the entry > M > Copy Entry A Note: Entries with a speed dial number from 1 to 500 are stored on the phone. Entries with a speed dial number of 501 or higher are stored on the SIM card. Therefore, copying an entry from one to the other will change its speed dial number.
D feature phone/SIM capacity messages To check the memory capacity of your phone or SIM card: R M > PhoneBook > highlight one entry > M > SIM Capacity/Phone Capacity feature send text messages send a quick note move to phone/SIM A Note: Your phone's memory limit is 500 phonebook entries and 750 SMS messages. The SIM card's memory limit depends on your carrier’s SIM card type.

D feature shortcuts Create a shortcut to a menu item: R feature power on/ off To set the power on/off time and mode: Highlight the menu item, then press and hold M. M > Settings > Initial Setup > Power On/Off When you see Assign MyMenu for: desired menu item, select YES (make a note of the key number). Then press Done. You can set the time you want the phone to power on/off. The time you set indicates when the phone will automatically power on or off.
