Improper use of the cigarette lighter/ electric socket and other electric accessories can lead to severe injuries or fires. Never leave children unattended with car keys. • Reclining the seat excessively may result in product damage.
Precautions for Safety CAUTION: • Turn on the car ignition before using this device. Do not operate the RSE System for long periods of time with the ignition turned off as such operations may lead to battery discharge. • Adjust the volume level so that the driver is able to hear sounds coming from outside of the vehicle. Driving while unable to hear outside noise and warning alarms may be the cause of traffic accidents. • Pay attention to the volume level when turning the device on.
Precautions for Safety • When cleaning the device, turn off the device first and clean using a dry and smooth cloth. Never use tough materials, chemical cloths, or solvents(alcohol, benzene, thinners, etc.) as such materials may damage the device panel or cause color and quality deterioration. • When experiencing product malfunctions, have the product inspected by an authorized KIA dealer.

Using the System for the First Time Turning the System On/Off Turning the System ON Press the engine start button then press the power button at the upper left side. Note • If the system is set to “Turn power on automatically,” the system will start automatically upon vehicle ignition. For more information, refer to “Power Setting”. Turning the System Off Press the engine start button again or press the power key on the RSE system to turn off the system.

Using the System for the First Time Resetting the System This feature is used to reset the system in the occurrence of an unforeseen error or problem. To reset the system, use a clip or a pin to press into the RESET button.
Using the System for the First Time Setting the Speaker Mode Press the speaker icon. Each time the button is pressed, the mode will change between the headphones and vehicle speaker. Using the System for the First Time Controlling RSE using a smartphone 1. Connect RSE to your smartphone on a common network and start the RSE Remote App on your smartphone. 2. To connect, select Left or Right on the RSE screen according to the seat position. (Seat selection is required only once.) Note • To use rear seat entertainment, you must first install the RSE Remote App on your smartphone. • For Android phones, search for RSE Remote at the Google Play store.

Drag & Drop Select a menu or item and drag & drop in the desired location. Drag or touch the slider along the play bar in the music screens to jump to the point that you want to play from.

Screen Sharing If Screen Sharing Failed If the screen sharing failed, go to the home screen and retry Screen Sharing. Turning Off Screen Sharing To stop Screen Sharing, go to the Home screen and press the Screen Sharing button. Note • When sharing the screen, the sound icon at the bottom of the screen must be changed to an ear jack for normal voice output.

Mirroring Before Using Mirroring • You can use the Screen mirroring feature to display your device screen on the system display without connecting a cable. • To use the Mirroring feature, you must first turn on the Wi-Fi in your mobile device. • The Mirroring feature is supported only in Android devices. • To use the Mirroring feature, first turn off the WiFi connection in the system. Starting Mirroring 1. P ress the button → Press Mirroring . 2. I n your mobile device, turn on the Mirroring feature.

Settings Deleting a Device Changing Device Name In the Bluetooth Setting screen → Press the Information button for the device you wish to delete → Press Delete . In the Bluetooth Setting screen → Press the Information button → Press Rename → Enter the name → Press OK .
Settings Bluetooth Connection to Your Vehicle Select Settings → Connect a device → Bluetooth → Bluetooth Connections → Add New, and then select the Audio Streaming option on the pop-up secreen. • Don't close the popup window until the connection is completed. • If the popup window is closed before the connection is completed, the device will not be updated on the RSE screen. Note When the Add New Device pop-up appears, go to the Bluetooth menu on RSE, and then select your vehicle from the list of devices.
Settings Network This menu is used to setup Wi-Fi connection. Connecting Wi-Fi Network 1. In the Settings screen → Press the Network button → Press the Wi-Fi network name to connect. Note • The Wi-Fi network list is refreshed every 5 seconds.

Beep Sound This menu is used to turn on a beep sound every time you operate the touch screen. In the Settings screen → Press the Beep Sound button → Press the desired option. Files that are not standard format files will not be played. For MP3/WMA files, only music files with compression rates between 8 Kbps ~ 320 Kbps can be played. Heed caution to static electricity when connecting/disconnecting external USB devices. Encoded MP3 Players will not be recognized when connected as an external device.
USB • The RSE may not recognize the USB device if separately purchased USB hubs and extension cables are being used. Troubleshooting Pre-Inspection Problem When the power is turned on, the corners of the screen are dark Possible Cause • The display appearing somewhat dark after prolonged periods of use is normal with LCD panels. It is not a malfunction. • If the screen is very dark, contact an authorized KIA for assistance. Sound comes out of only one side of the headphones.
Troubleshooting Pre-Inspection Problem Possible Cause Sound does not work in AV-In mode Are the audio connector jacks fully inserted into the AV-In terminal? The external device is not working Is the external device connected with a standard connector cable? Mirroring does not work. Within phones that support HDCP, mirroring will automatically end when copyright-protected contents or applications are operated.
