6 The Front Panel LCD
OVERVIEW
The front panel LCD displays level meters for all
analog inputs and outputs and activity indicators
for optical I/O. The LCD also provides several
menus that provide status information and basic
hardware settings.

LEVEL METERS
In its default state when the unit is first powered on,
the LCD displays level meter activity for all analog
audio inputs and outputs (Figure 6-1).

HEADPHONE VOLUME KNOB
The headphone volume knob (Figure 6-2) is a
push-button digital rotary encoder. Push the knob
for the features discussed below.

CHANNEL FOCUS
When turning the headphone knob to adjust
volume, the LCD shows the level setting. A few
seconds after you stop turning the knob, the LCD
returns to the previous display. To temporarily
suspend the focus timeout, push and hold the knob
while focused. A “lock icon appears in the LCD to
indicate that the focused metering will remain on
screen until you hold the knob again to dismiss it.
MUTE
When adjusting headphone volume, the LCD
provides visual feedback of the volume setting.
While the volume display is on screen, double-tap
the volume knob to temporarily mute (or unmute)
the headphones.
ID BUTTON
Push ID (Figure 6-2) to immediately view the 8As
network information, including its IP Address.
Push BACK to return to the meters.
MENU NAVIGATION
Push SEL (Select) to access the main menu, which
provides settings and status information.
