The Stretch and Pitch and Stretch Cache options let
you choose whether these features are enabled for
tracks that you add in new projects and the current
project. For information about these features, see
“Stretch” on page 141 and “Pitch and Stretch
Cache” on page 142.
The ZTX-related settings also have an effect on the
nature and quality of pitch-shifting processing,
from pencil tool edits in the Sequence Editor pitch
layer to wholesale transposition using the
Transpose command. For details on these settings,
see “ZTX Preferences” on page 900.
RECEIVE SYNC
For details about the Receive Sync settings, see
“Using Receive Sync” on page 952.
TRANSMIT SYNC
For details about the Transmit Sync settings, see
chapter 88, “Transmit Sync” (page 973).
TRANSPORT
The Tra n s p o r t preference controls the behavior of
the Wait button and the Fast Forward/Rewind
buttons.

Wait button
When a note is played
If the When a note is played option is chosen, the
main transport will start moving when a MIDI
note-on is received.
When a note or controller is played
If this option is chosen, the transport will start
when a MIDI note-on or MIDI controller event is
received.
On any MIDI activity
If this option is chosen, the transport will start
moving when any MIDI data is received, except for
active sensing or MIDI clock.
Fast Forward/Rewind buttons
Move playback position by…
Choose this option to move the playback position
by a fixed increment in one of the following
formats, chosen from the menu: measures, beats,
ticks, frames or seconds. You can then specify
different increments for slow versus fast cueing.
Move playback position continuously
Choose this option to move the playback position
smoothly, like an old tape recorder.
SCALING ALL WINDOWS UP OR DOWN
Digital Performer gives you the ability to scale the
appearance of all windows and text larger or
smaller. To do so, choose View menu > Scale >
Scale All Windows Up/Down.
