OPTICAL CONVERTER
Choose the Optical converter preset if you would
like your MOTU AVB device to serve as a multi-
channel analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog
converter connected to another device equipped
with an ADAT optical port.
For example, if you have a 24Ai, you could connect
the 24Ai optical output to the optical input on
another device. The 24Ai then serves as a multi-
channel expander that adds an additional 24
analog inputs to your setup. The benefit of
connecting the 24Ai optically is that you can
seamlessly integrate its inputs into the other device,
such as the on-board no-latency CueMix mixing
environment in MOTU mk3 interfaces.
Similarly, if you have a 24Ao, you could connect the
24Ao optical inputs to the optical outputs on
another device. The 24Ao then serves as a multi-
channel expander that adds an additional 24
analog outputs to your setup.
