ALL DEVICES TAB
1
1. The All Devices tab displays all MOTU
devices detected by the Discovery
app. This includes devices connected
directly to the computer via USB or
Thunderbolt, plus any devices that
are on line and connected to a
shared Ethernet network, even if the
network is standard (non-AVB)
Ethernet. This tab also displays
MOTU devices connected to other
computers on the network, via
either USB or Thunderbolt. It also
displays any MOTU AVB switches on
the network.
2. In large networks with many devices
and multiple switches, it can
sometimes be helpful to temporarily
hide switches from the list using this
check box.
3. In large networks with many
devices, use the search box to find
specific devices quickly by name.
4. A MOTU 1248 interface connected to
another computer on the network
via USB.
5. In this example, this is the 8pre-es
interface connected to the local
computer via USB (as shown on the
previous page). When you hover the
cursor over any device in the list,
you’ll see the Open Pro Audio Control
button, which launches the web app
for that device in your web browser.
The web app gives you access to the
many features in the device, includ-
ing settings, mixing, routing, etc.
6. A MOTU 828es interface connected
to another computer on the network
via Thunderbolt.
7. A MOTU AVB Switch on the network.
8. A MOTU UltraLite AVB connected
directly to the network through its
AVB Ethernet port.
9. This green arrow indicates that a
firmware update is available for the
device. Use the Firmware Updater
tab to conduct firmware updates.
