2. FRYING FOOD
- Set the temperature selector (H) to the
required setting (see cooking charts). The
control light (G) comes on.
When the oil has reached the required
temperature, the control light (G) goes out.
- Open the lid (A) by pushing on the release
button (F).
- Replace the basket (B) using the handle (C)
and place it in the draining position.
- Place the food in the basket.
- Close the lid.
- Slowly lower the basket into the oil from
the draining position.
- When the cooking is finished, raise the bas-
ket and place it in the draining position.
- Do not forget to turn off your fryer, by
returning the temperature selector to «0».
- Open the lid and serve.
Notes :
- If you need to fry several lots of food in suc-
cession, wait each time until the indicator
light (G) has gone out before putting food
into the oil.
- You can monitor the cooking of your food
with the aid of the Turn & Clean function (A3).
To avoid any risk of burns, never put your
hands above the odour filtration zone (A4).
. Your fryer is fitted with a paper filter and
its holder
. Use these for frying breaded foods
and this will keep your oil clean for longer (they
prevent the breadcrumbs falling into the oil).
Before selecting the required temperature,
proceed as follows:
. remove the basket, take out the filter holder
(B2), position the paper filter around the
holder and fit the assembly into the basket.
. replace the basket together with the fitted
filter.
. If your fryer is fitted with a timer:
- Press the button and the display «00» will
light up.
- Continue to press until the required time
appears (see cooking charts).
- Once you let go of the button the count down
will commence (the display will flash).
- If you make an error, reset the timer to «00»
by holding down the button, and start again.
- When the cooking time is up, a timer will
sound. To stop it, press the button.
Note: The timer signals the end of the
cooking time but does not turn off the fryer.
- The timer display cuts out automatically.
3. DEALING WITH ODOURS
. The activated carbon anti-odour filter
(models CP8 and CP9) is highly effective
against odours and grease. Depending on the
type and weight of foods being fried, it will
remain effective for 40 to 50 uses.
- When the saturation indicator, which is visi-
ble on the lid, turns from pink to light grey,
change the filter.
. The impregnated filter (model CP7) remains
effective for 10 to 15 uses.
- When the saturation indicator, which is visi-
ble on the lid, turns red, change the filter.
. Changing the filter
- Wait until the fryer has cooled down.
- Take out the “Clean Express” drawer (A1),
and turn it upside down while holding it over
the bin: the filter will fall out.
- Place the new filter into the drawer, black
face on top.
Practical tips
1. Oil
- Never operate your fryer without oil.
- Always use an oil which can withstand high
temperatures.
- Do not mix oils of different qualities.
- Change the oil when it becomes brown after
cooking, (after 10 to 20 uses, depending on
the cooking done).
Important : Before each use, make holes in
the solid fat with a non metallic spatula to
the bottom of the tank, in order to allow any
water trapped under the fat to escape in the
form of steam
2. Preparing foods for frying
- No matter what the recipe, food must be
perfectly dry to prevent overflowing and to
extend the life of the oil.
- When dishes include raw potatoes (chips,
crisps and potato straws), wash them in cold
water to get rid of the starch after chopping
them. Dry them carefully, and this will prevent
them from sticking together.
- When preparing frozen foods, remove any
ice crystals on them before cooking by
shaking the basket over the sink.
3. Cooking
- Do not overfill the basket, or you will cause
the temperature of the fryer to drop, and this
will make the food too greasy.
The capacity of your fryer is limited to :
. 1.2 kg of fresh chips
. 1.2 kg of frozen chips
. 10 doughnuts
- For best results, we advise that you use:
. 1 kg of fresh chips
. 900 g of frozen chips
