66 EqualLogic Configuration Guide | Version 15.2 | August 2014
Installation/Expansion
If installing FS7500/FS76x0 into an existing EqualLogic SAN, verify the existing LAN and SAN
networks meet the minimum requirements.
All NAS appliances in a NAS cluster must be of the same speed. Appliances with different
connectivity cannot be mixed in a NAS cluster.
- An FS7500 cluster can be expanded by using another FS7500 or an FS7600 but NOT an FS7610.
Do not block IPv6 traffic on the SAN internal switches when utilizing FS Appliances. The FS76x0
uses IPv6 for internal communication and setup only; not for user data. Client communication
occurs over IPv4.
Network
The two iDRAC IPMI ports on the FS7500 are 100Mb. The SAN switches must be able to support
100Mb in addition to 1Gbps speed.
