I CAN’T GET MY BURNER TO LIGHT.
Check to see if the supply tank valve is open, the regulator
is set to medium setting, and you are manually holding the
safety shut-off open. If this correct and you still dont smell
or hear gas, then replace regulator.
MY BURNER WILL NOT STAY LIT AFTER I
RELEASE THE SAFETY CONTROL VALVE.
Disconnect tip switch wires and reconnect the two wires
with a paper clip or jumper wire. If the heater works, change
the tip switch; if not, then change the thermocouple.
THERE IS A BLUE FLAME AT THE TOP OF
MY HEATER.
Clean the unit per MAINTENANCE instructions in the
manual. Check for spiders and dust in the back of the
plenum tube.
MY HEATER MAKES A POP AND ROAR
SOUND AND THE REAR STARTS GLOWING
RED.
This may be caused by a puff of wind, dirt, or a spider in the
riser on the back just above the safety control valve. This
reaction is called a BACK FLASH.
SOLUTION: Block the heater from direct wind flow. Clean
out the riser tube with a pipe cleaner and low pressure air or
screen defective. If the above doesn’t work, replace burner
assembly.
MY HEATER MAKES A HIGH-PITCHED
SOUND.
This will go away once the heater has warmed up.
Use a paper clip to connect the two wire
connectors together to bypass the tip switch.
