INSTALLATIONS Installing the CPU The 96M5985o board supports rPGA988B socket for Intel® Sandy Bridge Dual Core mobile processors. The processor socket comes with a screw to secure the processor. As shown in the left picture below, loosen the screw first before inserting the processor. Place the processor into the socket by making sure the notch on the corner of the CPU corresponds with the notch on the inside of the socket. Once the processor has slide into the socket, fasten the screw.
INSTALLATIONS Installing the Memory The 96M5985o board supports two DDR3 memory socket for a maximum total memory of 8GB in DDR3 SO-DIMM memory type. APPENDIX C. Watchdog Timer Configuration The WDT is used to generate a variety of output signals after a user programmable count. The WDT is suitable for use in the prevention of system lock-up, such as when software becomes trapped in a deadlock. Under these sorts of circumstances, the timer will count to zero and the selected outputs will be driven. Under normal circumstance, the user will restart the WDT at regular intervals before the timer counts to zero.
