5-6 Installing Memory
CAUTION! Exercise extreme care when installing or removing DIMM modules to
prevent any possible damage.
Memory Support
Each X8DTT-H(F)/HIBX(F)/HIBQ(F) serverboard has twelve (12) 240-pin DIMM slots
that can support up to 192 GB of registered ECC DDR3-1333/1066/800 MHz speed
SDRAM or up to 48 GB of unbuffered ECC/non-ECC DDR3-1333/1066/800 MHz
speed SDRAM.
Note: Check the Supermicro web site for recommended DIMMs.
Installing Memory Modules
1. Insert each memory module vertically into a slot following the charts below.
Pay attention to the notch along the bottom of the module to prevent inserting
it incorrectly.
2. Gently press down on the DIMM module until it snaps into place in the slot
(see Figure 5-3).
3. Repeat for all DIMMs. See tables below and on following pages.

To Install: Insert

push the release tabs
near both ends of the
module. This should
release it from the
slot.
