Caution!
Wear protective gloves and eye and
hearing protection!
Adopt a working position at the
side of or behind the appliance.
Never stand in the area of the dis-
charge opening.
Never put your hands in the feed
or discharge opening.
Before switching on the appli-
ance check whether there
is any chaff in the hopper.
If foreign bodies should enter the-
hopper or should the appliance
make unusual noises or vibra-
tions, switch the appliance off
immediately and allow it to come
to a standstill. Remove the mains
plug and carry out the following:
Check the appliance and
tighten any loose parts.
Replace damaged parts.
Repairs to the appliance must
be performed by an authorised
service centre.

Fig. 1
Press the green button (4a)

Press the red button (4b)
to switch off
Note
The machine has a circuit breaker
to prevent switching back on unin-
tentionally after a power cut.
Overload protection
An overloading of the appliance
(e.g. culminating in the blocking of
the blades) can lead to the standstill
of the appliance after a few seconds.
To protect the motor from damage
the appliance is automatically dis-
connected from the mains by the
overload protection.
Fig. 1
Before restarting the unit, wait
at least one minute before
you first press the reset button (3)
and then the On switch (4a).
If the motor does not start, clean
the filling area (see Maintenance).
Switching the direction
of rotation of the cutter deck
Fig. 1
Switching the direction of rotation
with the switch (2) allows jammed
material to be freed.
Position A
The cutter deck pulls in the material
to be chopped up.
Position B
The cutter deck rotates backwards
and releases the jammed material.
To release jammed material:
Switch off the unit with the Off
switch (4b).
Move switch for switching
the direction of rotation (2)
to position B.
Press and hold down On
switch (4a).
Note
The direction of rotation can
be switched with switch (2) only
when the unit is switched off.
Special instructions
for chopping
To prevent obstructions and
blockages, do not overload the
feed hopper or load it too quickly.
Process soft and hard material
alternately.
Remove side twigs from densely
branched material.
Shred woody material as freshly
as possible.
Do not allow the chopping mate-
rial in the area of the discharge
opening to accumulate too high.
This can lead to material which
is already chopped blocking
the discharge channel.
This can cause a kickback
of the material through the filling
opening.
Ensure that the maximum branch
diameter for processing permitted
for your appliance is observed.
See specifications on the
Declaration of Conformity for your
unit.
The blade unit pulls in the
chopping material largely by itself.
In the case of thicker branches
avoid overloading and blocking
the motor by repeatedly pulling
the branch back.
Empty the collection
container
Danger!
Switch off unit and pull out mains
plug.
Fig. 4
Note
The locking lever has the function
of a safety switch and must
be in Position
A
while operating
the product.
If the locking lever should not
be correctly snapped in, this and
the switch must be cleaned in the
product, if required.
Bring the locking mechanism
to position B.
Pull the collection container
completely out of the frame.
Empty the container.
Slide the collection container
onto the frame as far as it will go.
Bring the locking mechanism
to position A.
Transporting
the appliance
Danger!
Before lifting or carrying the unit, pull
out the mains plug. Before moving
the unit over surfaces, such as
footpaths or drive-ways, stop the
motor.
Using a vehicle
Before transporting the unit on
or in a vehicle:
Switch off motor and remove
connection cable.
Leave motor to cool down
(approx. 30 minutes).
When transporting the machine in
or on a vehicle, ensure that it does
not move around unintentionally.
