Slope Ope atio 8. Never fuel machine indoors because flammable vapors will accumulate in the area. Slopes are a major factor related to slip and fall accidents which can result in severe injury. Operation on slopes requires extra caution. If you feel uneasy on a slope, do not mow it. For your safety, use the slope gauge included as part of this manual to measure slopes before operating this unit on a sloped or hilly area. If the slope is greater than 15 degrees, do not mow it. 9.

A riding mower could overturn and cause serious injury.
SECTION3: SETTINGUP 1. 2. Disconnect spark plug wire from the spark plug, and ground it against the engine. If engine is equipped with a rubber boot, attach rubber boot to a bolt on the engine to ground. See Figure 1. Remove the retainer by following the steps below. 1. Push the chute deflector up towards the engine.
RopeG@de 1. Insert rope guide into the hole on the upper handle indicated in Figure 4. Secure with wing nut E, but do not tighten. NOTE: Follow this step only if the rope guide is not attached to the mower. Otherwise move to step 2. 2. 3. 4. Release the blade control handle.
SECTION4: OPERATING YOURLAWNMOWER K ow your lawnmower Now that you have set up your lawn mower for operation, get aquainted with its controls and features. These are described below and illustrated in Figure 6. This knowledge will allow you to use your new equipment to its fullest potential. The warranty on this lawn mower does not cover items that have been subjected to operator abuse or negligence. To receive full value from the warranty, operator must maintain the lawn mower as instructed here. Changing of engine-governed speed will void engine warranty. All adjustments should be checked at least once each season.
