SECTION3: ASSEMBLING YOURLAWNMOWER Unpacking HardwarePack • Remove staples, break glue on top flaps, or cut tape at carton end and peel along top flap to open carton. Please identify each piece of the hardware pack as shown in Figure 2 here. • Remove loose parts if included with unit (i.e., owner's manual, etc.). Cut along corners and lay carton down flat. Secure with one plastic wing nut, also included in the hardware pack.
• To remove the grass catcher: Lift the rear discharge door on the mower as shown in Figure 8. Lift the grass catcher up, out of the slots in the handle bracket assemblies. Release the rear discharge door. ConvertingTo Mulcher • Lift the rear discharge door on the mower and remove the grass catcher. Release the discharge door to allow it to close the rear opening of the mower. Now it is ready to mulch. • Slide the push nut onto the right side of the rod to secure.

SECTION6: MAKINGADJUSTMENTS CuttingHeight _ An adjusting plate and thumb lever at each wheel position provides cutting height adjustment. Each adjusting plate has nine height positions. To lower the handle height, proceed as follows. • • Remove the starter rope from the rope guide.

• Maintain engine oil level as instructed in engine manual. • Service air cleaner every 25 hours under normal conditions. Clean every few hours under extremely dusty conditions. Poor engine performance and flooding usually indicates that the air cleaner should be serviced. To service the air cleaner, refer to the engine manual. Clean spark plug and reset the gap once a season. Spark plug replacement is recommended at the start of each mowing season.
