Inactive Tool Path Compensation
If no edge radius/cutter radius path compensation is active, the theoretical
edge tip
P
is used as the reference point for the controller. The theoretical
edge tip
P
will always move on the programmed contour in this case.
However, this will lead to errors if the movements are not parallel to the
axes.

The shaded area in the drawing will not be removed since the controller is
using the theoretical edge tip P as its point of reference.
If edge radius / cutter radius path compensation is on, the CNC automati-
cally places the actual point of contact B on the programmed contour.
Thus, the resulting contour is identical to the programmed contour.
