Lubrication
1. Lubricatepivotpointson thebladecontrolat least
oncea seasonwithlightoil. The bladecontrolmust
operatefreelyinboth directions.SeeFigure5-1.
2. Lubricatethe wheelsat leastoncea seasonwith
lightoil (ormotoroil). If wheelsareremovedfor any
reason,lubricatesurfaceof the pivotarm andinner
surfaceof thewheelwithlight oil. SeeFigure5-1.
3. Lubricatethe torsionspringandpivotpointonthe rear
dischargedoorandside mulchplugperiodicallywith
lightoil to preventrust.SeeFigure5-1.

Deck Care
Cleanundersideof the mowerdeckaftereachuse to
preventbuild-upof grassclippingsorotherdebris.Follow
stepsbelowfor thisjob.
1. Disconnectsparkplugwire.Draingasolinefromlawn
mowerorplacea pieceof plasticunderthegas cap.
2. Tip mowersothat it restsonthe housing.Keepthe
sidewiththe air cleanerfacingup. Hold mowerfirmly.

Alwaysobservesafetyruleswhen performing
anymaintenance.
Thewarrantyon thislawnmowerdoesnot cover
itemsthathavebeensubjectedto operatorabuse
ornegligence.To receivefull valuefromwarranty,
operatormustmaintainthelawn moweras
instructedhere.
Changingof engine-governedspeedwill void
enginewarranty.
Alladjustmentsshouldbecheckedat leastonce
eachseason.
Periodicallycheckallfastenersand makesurethese
aretight.
_ ARNING:Nevertip the mower more than go°
inany direction and do not leavethe mower
tipped for any length of time. Oil can drain intothe
upper partof the engine causing a starting problem.
3. Scrapeand cleanthe undersideof the deckwitha
suitabletool.Do notspraywithwater.
4. Putthe mowerbackonits wheelsonthe ground.If
youhad putplasticunderthe gas capearlier,make
sureto removeit now.

Replacing Rear Flap
1. Toremoverearflap,lift reardoor,and pressflap inon
eithersideto removefromhole.SeeFigure5-2.
2. Removeflapfromoppositeholeand replacewithnew
flap inthe oppositeorderandmannerof removal.

sparkplug, and groundagainst engine
before performing any type of maintenance on your
