If the UPS is exposed to severe and quick temperature changes, there is danger of condensation. Before you take additional steps, an acclimatisation period of at least 2 hours is to be observed.

Under no circumstances may the device may be operated without a protective conductor. The socket for home installation must be easily accessible and in the vicinity of the UPS. Be sure to have the shortest possible cable lengths for fixed connections.

The output voltage in relation to the loads is Very Important. The UPS system includes energy storage (accumulators). The UPS is switched to test operation by simultaneously pressing this key with the menu up key for approx. 3 seconds. In the battery backup mode (mains failure), the acoustic signal provider can be switched off by simultaneously pressing the menu up key.

Storage and Unpacking 4.1 Storage of the UPS If the device is not installed immediately, please consider the following: Always store the device and its accessories in the original packaging. Recommended surrounding temperatures for storage are: + 0 °C ... + 40 °C. The device and the packaging are to be protected against moisture.

In addition to supplying the loads, the device also keeps the internal accumulators charged. In the event of a mains failure or a mains disturbance (e.g. voltage fluctuations), the UPS continues to supply clean voltage at the UPS output without interruption. The energy is obtained from the accumulator bank in support operation.

Installation and Connection of the UPS Installation and Connection of the UPS All the requirements stated in the technical data for the surrounding and operational conditions are to be observed to ensure the perfect operation of the UPS. In setting up / installing the UPS, the following must be heeded: Avoid extreme temperatures and air moisture. Consider the required horizontal installation position. Make sure that the ventilation of the device is ensured.

The Device and its Operation 7.1 Operating the UPS The operation of this system is characterised by various types of operations and messages. 7.1.1 Types of operation and messages Charging operation If the mains is present and the input fuse is switched on, the UPS is in the charging operation. -> The accumulators are already charged, the UPS has not yet started.

Afterwards, the UPS switches to bypass operation for approximately 10 seconds. Then the mains operation is automatically activated. If no mains was present during the start process, the UPS switches directly to support operation after the start process.
UPS MTD 700 / 1000 / 1500 / 2000 / 3000 The Device and its Operation Test operation No test operation is possible for the types 1000RM and 1500RM. If the UPS is in mains operation, you can switch to test operation by simultaneously pressing, for approx. 3 seconds, the key "Menu selection" and the key "Menu up." This switches to support operation for approx. 10 sec. Display/warning: – red LED (FAULT) – yellow LED (WARNING) – green LED (NORMAL). Display "BAT INVERTER" and yellow LED (WARNING) for approx.

The operator may only undertake the following listed measures and only with particular care: Using the operating elements: switch on, start and switch off the UPS. Reading the display elements and interpreting the acoustic warnings. Starting the test operation.
UPS MTD 700 / 1000 / 1500 / 2000 / 3000 7.2.2 The Device and its Operation Shutting and switching off the UPS With a running UPS, it is shut off by simultaneously pressing both the keys "Menu down" and "Menu up" (hold down for approx. 3 sec.). Press the "POWER ON/OFF" key for approx. 3 sec. with the types 1000RM / 1500RM. The UPS remains in the charging operation mode to keep the accumulators charged and ready for operation.

The following parameters can be changed via the basic settings: – output voltage (220 V, 230 V, 240 V AC). – output frequency (50 Hz, 60 Hz) in support operation; the input frequency must be adjusted.

Before you start the test operation, you should consider the following points: Inform involved employees of your action. For the sake of caution, please make a backup copy of all the data of the connected loads. Leave all the loads turned on so that the load behaviour remains. Make sure that the UPS is in the mains operating mode.
UPS MTD 700 / 1000 / 1500 / 2000 / 3000 8. Starting up the UPS System Starting up the UPS System To ensure error-free start-up, the following points are to be observed: 1. Connect the UPS, with the provided connection cable, to the mains. 2. Wait until the system test has been concluded. 3. Switch on the UPS by pressing the previously described key combination (or "POWER ON/OFF"). 4. Wait until the UPS is in the mains operating mode. 5. Now switch on the loads successively and observe the load display.

MTD Series Problem Possible cause Remedy No function, no display, no warning. The mains is not present or not switched on for the UPS. Make sure that all the cables are connected and confirm this through the appropriate voltage measurements. Switch on the circuit breaker of the UPS. The UPS cannot be started, no warning.

Maintenance and Service Maintenance and Service You can assume a long service life and uninterrupted operation with minimum maintenance for your UPS system. The reliability of the UPS will however be determined primarily by the surrounding conditions. Temperature and moisture in the surroundings of the system must be kept within the limits. Furthermore, the area around the UPS should be as clean and free of dust as possible.
UPS MTD 700 / 1000 / 1500 / 2000 / 3000 Maintenance and Service Remember that the accumulators of the system are discharged after the measurement, which means that the UPS system must work for a few hours (at least 5 hours) in the mains and charging operation before it is ready for use again at approx. 80 %.
