INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR TEAK SHOWER SEAT WITH SWING
DOWN LEGS
IMPORTANT: PROPER WALL BACKING MATERIAL AND MOUNTING HARDWARE MUST
BE USED TO MOUNT THIS SHOWER SEAT AS REQUIRED BY A.D.A. GUIDELINES. MTI
DOES NOT INCLUDE HARDWARE DUE TO VARIETY OF APPLICATIONS.
1. Carefully remove the seat from the shipping carton.
2. Place seat in desired location with mounting flanges firmly against the wall.
3. Lower seat and legs and level unit by adjusting the rubber feet to the desired mounting height (17”-19”).
4. With the mounting flanges firmly against the wall, mark the location of the three holes in each flange.
5. Drill the appropriate sized holes in the locations just marked. Tightly secure the two flanges to the wall using
sufficient mounting hardware and attaching to proper in-wall backing material suitable for your specific application.

A.D.A. REGULATIONS REQUIRE THE HEIGHT OF THE SEAT TO BE A MINIMUM OF 17”
AND A MAXIMUM HEIGHT OF 19” ABOVE THE FLOOR.
USE THE FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE TEMPLATE DIAGRAM
PROVIDED. THE TEMPLATE IS NOT TO SCALE AND SHOULD BE USED ONLY AS A GUIDE.
1. The template dimensions are for our 22” wide seat. If your seat is other than 22” do NOT use the measurements
on the enclosed template!
2. Determine the seat height and approximate location for final installation. Scribe a horizontal, straight line across
the mounting wall for the height of the top of the seat.
3. Select and scribe a vertical center line where seat is to be installed. This will give you the center of the seat. This
line will pass through your horizontal line and should be at least 10” long.
4. From the horizontal line, come down 3-5/8” on the vertical center line and scribe a horizontal line for mounting the
seat flanges. The line will need to be about 16” wide.
5. Line up center of the flanges with horizontal line just marked and mark the three screw holes on each side.
6. To mark locations for the sliding leg bracket, measure 2-1/4” below the horizontal line from step #5 at the center
line. Use the bracket for a template and mark the two top holes and one lower hole. The two top holes should be
equally spaced from your vertical center line.
7. Using the appropriate size drill bit for you fastener hardware, drill the three mounting holes for each of the right
and left hinge bracket flanges, plus the three holes for the sliding leg bracket.
8. Holding the seat assembly in an upright and raised position against the mounting wall, tightly secure the two
hinge bracket flanges to the wall AND INTO PROPER BACKING MATERIAL, using mounting hardware suitable
for your specific mounting applications.
9. Slip the lower horizontal portion of the leg tubing into the sliding leg bracket and tightly secure the bracket to
the wall AND INTO PROPER BACKING MATERIAL, using mounting hardware suitable for your specific mounting
application.
10. Check seat for level, proper operation and weight bearing. The seat is designed to hold a maximum of 350 lbs.
